Thank you to the children for your enthusiasm, hard work and friendship. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday and come back ready for a lot of learning in 2017. Next, a heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Nilma Primary School. Thank you for welcoming me into your workplace and allowing me to see how dedicated, passionate and caring you all are. HOMEGROUP HAPPENINGS!
We’ve been winding down, sharing some
calm moments in class together, getting
ready for Christmas. Students have been
working on a variety of tasks, from
comprehension to puzzles. Check out of
‘Elfie Selfies’ on our door…
Christmas Fun!
Yesterday the students made gingerbread
Christmas cookies and they had so much
fun! Students worked in two groups and
followed a procedural text. Students dec-
orated their cookie with m&m’s and Christ-
mas themed icing and candy.

Students have been working in Power
Point to design a slide show about
themselves. They have been exploring
editing tools including inserting
images and illustrations and adding
animations and transitions. Home Group - 2/1 -

My goodness I just don’t know what has happened to 4th Term. I trust you are 4
steps ahead of me in your preparation for Christmas Day. We ‘keep it simple’
and just add Grandma’s fancy plate under the cake, put ‘Mothers’ special glass
ware around the table, polish the cutlery and add a bon bon or two. Somehow
the magic of Christmas just permeates the place as we give thanks for another
year and time with the family.
I trust this is your experience too, though I know it’s not easy for some who
have lost a significant other or distance and relationships are difficult to
maintain. So all the best for this Special Season in which ever way you choose
to celebrate or not, enjoy the break and come back refreshed.

GIFT WRAPPING SERVICE Students in the Yellow Home Group have been busy making decorative Bonbons and gift tags ready for
our Christmas Gift Wrapping Fundraiser.
The attached flyer outlines the details of the dates and times when we will be offering this service to the
local community.
As a leadership role, Grade six students are invited to attend and assist with the gift wrapping and customer
service.
We welcome others to volunteer some of their time to help with the gift wrapping or to come down and
support our fundraiser.
Come along and make a gold coin donation to get your Christmas ‘All Wrapped up!’.
The next Wrapping Day Service will be this Saturday
17th December.
