Weekend of Prayer for Victims of Sex Trafficking

Page 2: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Sexual trafficking is

slavery; people being bought

and sold for the purpose of

sexual exploitation.

Page 3: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Millions of people worldwide are

sexually trafficked each year.

In Canada, women and children are trafficked

internationally as well as between towns, reserves and cities

Page 4: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Sexual trafficking victims are in a place of darkness and

despair

Page 5: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Veils of secrecy, deception and shame often wrap around victims.

Page 6: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Who will open my eyes?

Page 7: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

That I might see?

Page 8: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

God of light, God of life,

shine on me!

Creator, please heal me!

Sexual trafficking is never a choice. There is always force or coercion or deception. Victims are often isolated, threatened, drugged, and tortured.

They face violence and hopelessness.

The majority of sexual trafficking victims are trafficked by someone

they know and trust - trust - such as a relative or a

boy friend. Imagine

the grief and betrayal.

Page 15: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Human trafficking is run by international organized crime groups,

but most traffickers and johns are “ordinary” men who think their actions

are justified.

Page 16: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

We need men of honour who:

• Embrace equality• Do not pay for sex• Avoid pornography (which

portrays women as objects)• Build and maintain healthy

relationships

Page 17: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Pray…Pray… for traffickers, johns (consumers) and all those involved in the sex industry

• Repentance and change• Healthy relationships/marriages• Justice and redemption

500 Aboriginal Canadian women and girls have gone missing in the

last 20 years. .

Page 20: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Aboriginal girls are at grave risk of sexual trafficking, and need

protection and prayer.

Page 21: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Aboriginal youth are only 3-5% of the Canadian population, and yet in some cities they are 90%

of the visible sex trade.

Page 22: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

The average age of entry into the sex trade for Aboriginal girls

in our country is 12 or 13.

Page 27: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

All human beings are created with dignity in the image of God.

They should not be for sale.

Page 28: Lord, Deliver Us From Evil

Sexual trafficking victims need God’s protection and

intervention. They need us to pray and to pray and to pray.

“But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them…” (Isaiah 42:22a)

“Say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!;” (Isaiah 49:9a)
