CHILD HOOD Lordes real name is Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor She was born on November 07, 1996 in Takapuna, Auckland. She is now 18 Lorde grew up in Devonport and attended Takapuna Grammar School She loved reading and going to the museum She started writing her own music as a 12-year-old Lorde sang in a school talent show and the video was sent to a record label who signed her up, aged 13
