Our school has received the data that comes with the

NAPLAN results. The staff will now work through all

the data generated by the NAPLAN and use it to help

us develop plans to help our school improve our

results in the coming years.

The Eisteddfod wraps up for us today. I wish to thank

the children who have put in a huge effort in getting

ready for the Eisteddfod, and they can be proud of the

performances they put forward. I also thank the many

parents who came to lend their support throughout the

Eisteddfod. Finally, my thanks must go to the teachers

and support staff that put in so much work for this

event, most especially to Miss Hedges who puts in

many hours choosing poems and listening to and

encouraging individuals. This year we also had

support from Mrs Toni Kennedy who listened to

many of our Primary students and gave them some

valuable tips.. In this Newsletter we have included a

35 of the 63 performers from Goulburn North earned

recognition for their efforts at the Individual Verse Recital

Section of the Goulburn Eisteddfod. Our children showed

their adaptability, giving engaging recitations in a

cavernous hall. Particular mention should be made of a

number of brave children who showed enormous strength

of character. Thanks, in generous amounts, should be

given to not only the children (for their patience whilst

waiting and extraordinary decorum) but also the family

members whom went along to encourage the children. The

amazing support our parents give to events such as the

Eisteddfod demonstrate what a remarkable school

community we have. A special thank you to Toni

Kennedy, Mrs McGuire and the office ladies for all their

help in getting the children ready for the eisteddfod.

Heartfelt thanks from Miss Hedges and the children.

Special Message from a Parent

“My sincere thanks to Muffy for her

commitment and assistance to the

children preparing for the Eisteddfod.

They as always, were wonderful but I

never underestimate the sheer hard work

she must put in to help them achieve their

successes”

Goulburn North Public School excelled at

the second day of the Eisteddfod. The

children were enthusiastic, looked smart

and performed to the best of their ability.

Classes KH KN IB 1/2M 3/4T 3/4A and

Investigating forces with science, push, pull etc to Dance

Music……

After an audit by Security

it has been recommended that

we lock the bottom gates

(outside 4/5/6G’s room ) during

school time. As a result we

will lock those gates at 9.30

and re-open them at 3.00 p.m.

It is imperative that all permission

notes are returned to school by the

due day.

If a bus is leaving the School at

9.10 it is impossible for notes

brought in THAT morning to be

marked on master lists and

circulated to the teachers involved.

This can lead to children being

disappointed that they miss out on

an excursion and have to stay at

School because the notes were not

returned on time.

Please keep check on what is

happening at School via the

newsletter.

Your help would be appreciated.

Dance2bfit

Missed Classes

will be made up

next term Over the past few weeks our school has

been enjoying Dance2bfit. Every week

we go to the hall with our instructor

Paul and learn a new dance. We dance

to many popular songs e.g. Happy, We

Will Rock You, Geronimo and many

more. On behalf of our school thank

you Paul and we hope we see you back

here again. Daina Kerr 3/4A

Dance2bfit

This term, we did Dance2bfit on Mondays. It was pretty

good. We learned lots of different dances, had fun staying

fit with our friends and got to groove to the beat of the

music.

All the different dances were pretty cool. It was great

learning new moves, especially when we finally got them

all right. That sometimes took a bit of effort.

We also had a bunch of fun with our friends as we stayed

fit to the music. Some of the dances helped us with our

flexibility, others with our coordination and some that just

made us breathe really hard.

Moving to the beat of the music was probably the best

part, as you don’t get to do that so much in Maths,

Science and English.

I hope we get to do this kind of thing again, as it really

helped energize us and keep us fit.

Best Dance: We will rock you

Thank you so much Paul!
