Lori Smith Priest is a teacher of 5th grade ELA classes in Mississippi where she lives with her husband Slade Lori earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree at Southeastern Louisiana University at which she attained a number of academic honors She has been teaching elementary students for almost four years Lori finds her work as a teacher incredibly engaging and inspiring However Lori also finds time to cultivate other passions outside of school such as hunting
Hunting Wildlife Mississippirsquos wildlife offers many opportunities for hunters like Lori Some of the statersquos most commonly-hunted game include bull Deer bull Rabbits bull Bobtail Quail bull Turkeys bull Geese
Lori is a frequent hunter of white-tailed deer hogs and turkey When hunting deer and hogs Lori relies exclusively on a hunting bow However shersquos also experienced with firearms and uses a rifle to hunt turkeys
Women in Hunting
Given that hunting is a male-dominated sport Lori is in a minority of hunters Of the nearly 14 million hunters in the United States only about 11 are women However the number of female hunters did increase by 25 over a recent five year period suggesting that more women are realizing the accessibility and excitement of the sport Lori has been hunting for just two years but in that short time shersquos already mastered the bow amp arrow and firearm weapons and has successfully hunted a number of animals
