Mission College introduces the brand new Elementary Teacher Education Associate in Arts Degree for transfer (AA-T).
This new associate degree for transfer
• is offered through the Child and Family Studies Dept.
• is a groundbreaking opportunity for LAMC studentsinterested in becoming elementary school teachers.
• is an educational opportunity that builds a strongfoundation for transfer to a CSU.
Mission College welcomes Dr. Veronica Allen, a new full-time faculty member, who will teach Education courses this Fall 2016. Dr. Allen is an educational psychologist who has taught Child Development courses for over nine years in higher education and has experience teaching school-age children.
Dr. Allen’s vision is to provide the new AA-T Degree to the local community as well as promote access to a streamlined pathway for transfer to a CSU.
As an expert in her field, Dr. Allen recognizes that an effective elementary school teacher also knows about children’s growth and development. She hopes our students who are interested in becoming elementary school teachers will choose this new degree for transfer and one day return to their community as elementary school teachers.
