  • St Hilda’s School recognises the ever-important need for global education in the 21st Century. We offer opportunities for students to experience a range of educational and real-life cultural immersions locally and around the globe.

    GLOBAL LEARNING

    AT ST HILDA’S

St Hilda’s School has developed many lasting

relationships with schools across the globe.

The Student Cultural Exchange Program offers

opportunities for girls to study abroad in Canada,

England, Scotland, South Africa, the United States

    of America and New Zealand.

St Hilda’s Student Cultural Exchange Program

empowers girls to gain a competitive advantage

and the capability for success in an increasingly

    globalised world.

The girls have the opportunity to travel, study

abroad and host a visiting student from another

    country.

The Student Cultural Exchange Program has

    many benefits.

Girls will gain the knowledge to understand a vast

array of different cultures and community perspectives.

Awareness of the importance in effective

    communication empowers girls to understand

personal sensitivity and build interpersonal skills.

The program also offers girls the ability to engage

in “real life” problem solving and ignite interest in

    global issues.

Not only are there tremendous educational benefits,

this program also offers girls the chance to develop

    resilience, maturity, compassion, acceptance and

    self-confidence.

This program offers girls a rewarding global

opportunity and challenges them to embrace

    change and celebrate global culture.

Girls are invited to attend an information evening

and apply to be a part of the Year 10 Cultural

Exchange Program in Year 9. Places in the Cultural

Exchange program are limited and, as such,

the School undertakes a rigorous application

process before placing girls in the program.

There are many criteria to be considered as a

part of this process and your daughter’s teachers,

Head of Year, Head of School/Boarding and

the School Principal are all involved in the

    decision-making process.

Much thought and discussion goes into each

placement, with your daughter’s safety the

    School’s primary priority.

Girls who are unsuccessful in applying for the

    Cultural Exchange Program are encouraged

to apply for future international opportunities

in Year 10, 11 and 12. Please visit the Global

Learning page on the School’s website for

    further information.

Girls are also encouraged to obtain feedback from

    Kaitlin Barrell, International Connections Officer

on their application; this will help with personal

growth and better assist with future applications

    for programs.

It is important to note that a successful exchange

placement is not guaranteed, even if selection criteria

and requirements as stated in The Application and
