Threats here, there, and everywhere?
Will the saints finally be saved? Will they make it to the finish line?
What are “these things” (in Rom. 8:31) which prove that God is for us?

A) The Substitutionary Passion of the Son (Rom. 8:1-4), which frees us from the condemnation of the Law;

1. Mortification of sin (Rom. 8:13) 2. Redemption of our bodies (Rom.

I. No Opposition – Love Conquers Fear “If God is for us, who can be
against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not with him graciously give us all things?” (Rom. 8:31-32)
II. No Condemnation – Love Conquers Guilt “Who shall bring any charge
against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died – more than that, who was raised – who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.” (Rom. 8:33-34)
III. No Separation – Love Conquers All! “Who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us… [Nothing] will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8: 35-39)
