Love Magazine

What is the name and genre of the publication?

It’s called LOVE and it’s a style and fashion magazine.

History of the publication.

LOVE is a bi-annual British style magazine founded in 2009 by stylist and fashion journalist Katie Grand, who remains editor-in chief. Since 2012, Lulu Kennedy has been editor-at-large and Alex Fury has been editor of this Condé Nast publication.

Who is the target audience?

Their target audience is women between the age of 18 and 40 with an A, B, C1 audience with 48% of their audience being A, B.

How often is it published in which formats?

It’s published twice a year one in spring/summer and the other in autumn/winter. It is published online, in print and on the iPad.

What is the circulation and readership? Do you notice any patterns? Increase or decrease over time? Can you make any informed decisions as to why this is?

Its readership in 2014 is 400,000 and their monthly unique users in 2014 are 80,000.

Which institution is responsible for this publication?

It is published by Condé Nast.

What kind of magazines do they publish?

They publish all types of magazine such as Fashion, Home, Bridal, Golf, Food, Travel, Technology, culture and FFM. A majority of their magazines are fashion and they publish Vogue, W, Glamour, Allure, Self, Teen Vogue, GQ, Details, Lucky and LOVE.

Are they responsible for media texts across other formats? If so what? What does this tell you about the magazine?

Condé Nast launched Condé Nast Entertainment in 2011 to develop film, television and digital video programming. They also own Fairchild Fashion Media which is a publisher of fashion newspapers, magazines, websites and conferences. In May 2013, Condé Nast Entertainment’s Digital Video Network debuted, featuring web series for such publications as Glamour and GQ. This tells us that the publication is trying to reach a younger audience and they will want to move online and gain this younger audience before print media dies out as the amount of people buying physical copies is decreasing.
