Given the nature of all our sinfulness, God, in His justice, could simply judge all of us completely and immediately. However, in His love, He extends His mercy, grace and forgiveness toward all who will repent and turn to Him by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:1-10). With the time God gives us until He returns, we must be about the busi-ness of shining His light and love and proclaiming the Gospel. May we step up and be His active disciples, making a loving difference for His kingdom in our sphere of influence—Winfield and Cowley County! We have a great oppor-tunity to do just that together at our Block Party coming up on Sunday, August 24 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. on our church grounds. We plan to have an inflatable

bouncy house along with live music bands, grilled hot dogs and other food, along with other booths for food and games. An organizational meeting to prepare for this big event will take place on Tues-day, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. Please make this a pri-ority, as you are needed to help us shine Jesus’ love to our community.

With increasing wickedness and hopelessness surging around the world, people need the hope and joy that only Jesus can give. We are praying God will use this event to show that. Invitation cards will soon be available for this event that you can use as a tool to invite others. Please be in prayer for this event, that God will provide the servants needed, and that many will attend. Also, we are desiring that two or three individuals will be willing to take three to five minutes to share their testimony of how Je-sus Christ brought them to faith in Him and changed their lives. If you are will-ing to do that, please contact any of the pastoral staff.

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven” (Matt. 5:16). Let’s shine brightly with His love to Winfield and beyond? “The love of Christ compels us!” (2 Cor. 5:14).

Prayer Path Coming August 10, 12 & 13! Prayer is foundational in our lives and to our church ministries. Plan now to journey through the prayer path with your family, taking as much or as little time at each station as you need. Days and times the Prayer Path will be open are: Sunday, Aug. 10 from 5 to 6:00pm and 7:30 to 8:30pm, Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 9:30am to 5:30pm, Wednesday, Aug 13 from 9:30am to 8:00pm. If you would be interested in creating or assisting with one of the prayer stations, please contact Pastor Keith.

Love Winfield: Block Party at Cornerstone Organizational Meeting—Tuesday Aug. 12

You are encouraged to sign up to help serve at the “Love Winfield: Block Party @ Cor-nerstone” outreach event. Sign up sheets are on the countertop in the lobby/foyer. You can sign up to help with set up, grilling, food, balloons, face painting, bouncy houses, sound table for the bands, registration table for door prizes and getting infor-mation, parking, and clean up. An organizational meeting to do final planning will take place on Tuesday, August 12 in the Family Life Center at 7:00pm. Each crew team will also have time at the meeting to get together for final planning in their own area of service. We will also take time to pray together. How can the Lord use you in this event to reach out to our community?

MOPS Playdate at Island Park in August

Then Kick-Off in September for a New School Year MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) is having a gathering of play together at

Island Park playground on Thursday, August 14 at 10:30am. All siblings are

invited to come. You may bring snacks and beverages to keep your kids going

and hydrated playing outside!

MOPS will resume meeting in September on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of

each month through the school year at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship from 9:30-11:30am begin-

ning on Thursday, September 11th and then on the 25th. If you have questions or if you would

be interested in helping with the pre-schoolers (MOPPETS) during this time, please contact

Tahnee Reeser at 620-262-6018.

65th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, August 2 in the Family Life Center from

Baptism Service on Sunday, September 14

Have you been baptized since you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ to iden-tify yourself as His follower? If not, a baptism service is being planned at the 10:30am worship service on September 14. Please contact any of the pastoral staff by Tuesday, September 9 if you would like to get baptized.

Sanctuary Adult Bible Fellowship

Join us in the sanctuary as we continue a DVD study from Answers in Genesis called “The Foundations”. This DVD study features Ken Hamm, founder of Answers in Genesis, affirming the authority of God’s Word and shares how to stand and defend it with confidence and boldness. In his convicting yet often humorous style, Hamm addresses urgent concerns in society and reveals what must be done to reach today’s culture for Christ. Showing how crucial the first 11 books of Genesis are, Ken opens a new world of understanding, and offers solutions for those that are challenged by today’s secular reasoning. This class will run for 12 weeks and will be facilitated by Gregg Little. Come and be encouraged in your faith, and learn from the insights of fellow believers!

‘Master God's Book’ Adult Bible Fellowship

In August, this Fellowship will be finishing up the study on the book of

James and 1, 2 and 3 John.

Beginning in September, the Master God’s Book Adult Bible Fellowship

will be studying the books of Philippians and Colossians. Paul, in his let-

ters to the Philippians and Colossians, wrote some of his most enduring

statements about faith and hope and shared his most penetrating insights

about the divine nature of Christ. Taken together, these two letters provide

believers in Christ with timely encouragement and godly wisdom. Indeed, the

sacred truths revealed in these letters come from the heart and mind of a man

who had learned God’s truths through many years of sacrificial service to

Christ. Join us in the conference room for this engaging study led by Pat

Potter.

Annual All-Church Picnic at Island Park

On Sunday, September 14 at 12 noon our church will have its annual picnic at Island Park in the large pavilion. We will begin eating around 12:45pm. You are encouraged to bring a main dish and side dish or dessert to share. Drinks will be provided. Bring your footballs and Frisbees and other games. Join us for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and good food! In case of bad weather, it will be held at the church.
