Thank you so much for spending another year calling Casa Tierra “home”! We would like to wish each and every one of you a very healthy, happy and prosperous new year! We would like to take a moment to again, thank all of you who participated in our charity and donation event, as well as attending our Holiday Party! We had so much fun getting to spend time with our residents and it is always a pleasure to be able to serve you all and participate in helping local Albuquerque families with such generosity. Also a big congrats to those who won our Patio and Balcony Holiday decorating contest and thank you to everyone who participated this year!! It brings such joy to our hearts to see so many beautiful patios and balconies decorated! It sure does help to put us in the Holiday spirit! For those of you who were not able to participate, we understand and missed you, but we look forward to seeing you at our next resident event! Do you have a suggestion as to what event or games that you want to see at our next event? Please let us know! We also wanted to quickly mention that there seems to be an influx of feral cats around Casa Tierra. While we are pet lovers here at Casa Tierra, we do not want to in any way attract stray animals to our property. It has come to our attention that we have residents who will feed these animals which in turn signals to them to keep coming back to Casa Tierra and to bring their other furry friends. Please do not feed these stray animals. If you do see any strays you have every right to call Animal Control to take care of the issue. As always, we love our residents and please let us know how we may continue to serve you! Here’s to a very Happy 2014! Brittany Emerson, Community Manager Baby, It’s COLD Outside! As you know, January and February tend to be the coldest months of the year in Albuquerque. Therefore, please remember to keep your thermostats set to no lower than 55 degrees this winter. Also, please be mindful of overnight freezing temperatures and bring your pets in to avoid adverse affects of the chilly weather. Additionally, when freezing is predicted in our area, please leave one faucet in your apartment home on with a slow drip and leave the cabinets open under your sinks to that the warm air can reach them. Although we do our best to salt the walkways and parking lots, we ask that you always proceed with caution during the winter season. If you should notice any icy spots in your area, please call the office immediately, so we can get them taken care of as quickly as possible. Have you overhead folks at the water coolers saying that they are looking for an apartment? Is your little brother finally moving out of your parent’s house and is going to get his first apartment? Do you know someone who is getting transferred to Albuquerque from another state and they aren’t sure where there is a fabulous place to live? Refer them to Casa Tierra! If you refer a friend you can receive up to $250 off your next month’s rent depending on the lease term that they sign! If you have questions about our referral program, stop on by the office or give us a call and Claire and Brittany are happy to give you all the details! Trash Talk We wanted to again remind you, our fabulous residents, on proper trash etiquette here at Casa Tierra. It is very important that all of our residents understand the importance of disposing of garbage properly year round. Please make sure that you are taking your garbage to the dumpsters immediately and do not, for any reason, leave trash outside your front door for any length of time. Also, if you have decided to give your trash bag the “old heave ho” into the dumpster and it doesn’t quite make it, please make the effort to pick up your trash around the dumpster area. Finally, remember that the GREEN trash bins in for recyclable items ONLY. Please do not place your regular trash inside these recycle bins. We are still having an issue with people placing their regular trash inside the recycle bins, particularly at the back dumpster area near the townhomes. These trash disposing guidelines are not only common courtesies, but common sense as well. With your help, we can keep Casa Tierra beautiful! Love Your Laundry We realize that there are better things to do with our free time than our laundry, but when we share a community laundry facility, it is always courteous to your neighbors (and to your laundry), to promptly remove your clothing from the machines when they are done washing and drying. Show your neighbors and your duds that you care…love your laundry by removing it in a timely manner, so your neighbor can do the same for his neighbor and so on and so forth. In addition because we have these fabulous high efficiency washers, please use Laundry Detergent that is made specifically for High Efficiency machines. Also please make sure that you clean out your lint filters after drying your clothing! Finally, if you find that the laundry cards or one of the washers or dryers is not working properly, please call 1-800-MAC-GRAY immediately to place a work order with them. Then, please give the office a call with your issue so that we can follow up with MAC GRAY. Thank you for your cooperation! Start Your New Year Off With Cash In Your Pocket!! Have you overhead folks at the water coolers saying that they are looking for an apartment? Is your little brother finally moving out of your parent’s house and is going to get his first apartment?
