Letter From The ManagerHello 2014!! Thank you so much for spending another year calling Casa Tierra“home”! We would like to wish each and every one of you a very healthy,happy and prosperous new year! We would like to take a moment to again,thank all of you who participated in our charity and donation event, as well asattending our Holiday Party! We had so much fun getting to spend time withour residents and it is always a pleasure to be able to serve you all andparticipate in helping local Albuquerque families with such generosity.

Also a big congrats to those who won our Patio and Balcony Holidaydecorating contest and thank you to everyone who participated this year!! Itbrings such joy to our hearts to see so many beautiful patios and balconiesdecorated! It sure does help to put us in the Holiday spirit! For those of youwho were not able to participate, we understand and missed you, but we lookforward to seeing you at our next resident event! Do you have a suggestion asto what event or games that you want to see at our next event? Please let usknow!

We also wanted to quickly mention that there seems to be an influx of feralcats around Casa Tierra. While we are pet lovers here at Casa Tierra, we do notwant to in any way attract stray animals to our property. It has come to ourattention that we have residents who will feed these animals which in turnsignals to them to keep coming back to Casa Tierra and to bring their otherfurry friends. Please do not feed these stray animals. If you do see any straysyou have every right to call Animal Control to take care of the issue.

Baby, It’s COLD Outside!As you know, January and February tend to be thecoldest months of the year in Albuquerque.Therefore, please remember to keep yourthermostats set to no lower than 55 degrees thiswinter. Also, please be mindful of overnightfreezing temperatures and bring your pets in toavoid adverse affects of the chilly weather.Additionally, when freezing is predicted in our area,please leave one faucet in your apartment home onwith a slow drip and leave the cabinets open underyour sinks to that the warm air can reach them.

Although we do our best to salt the walkwaysand parking lots, we ask that you always proceedwith caution during the winter season. If youshould notice any icy spots in your area, please callthe office immediately, so we can get them takencare of as quickly as possible.

Have you overhead folks at the water coolerssaying that they are looking for an apartment? Isyour little brother finally moving out of yourparent’s house and is going to get his firstapartment? Do you know someone who is gettingtransferred to Albuquerque from another state andthey aren’t sure where there is a fabulous place tolive? Refer them to Casa Tierra! Trash TalkWe wanted to again remind you, our fabulousresidents, on proper trash etiquette here at Casa Tierra.It is very important that all of our residents understandthe importance of disposing of garbage properly yearround. Please make sure that you are taking yourgarbage to the dumpsters immediately and do not, forany reason, leave trash outside your front door for anylength of time.

Also, if you have decided to give your trash bag the“old heave ho” into the dumpster and it doesn’t quitemake it, please make the effort to pick up your trasharound the dumpster area.

Finally, remember that the GREEN trash bins in forrecyclable items ONLY. Please do not place yourregular trash inside these recycle bins. We are stillhaving an issue with people placing their regular trashinside the recycle bins, particularly at the backdumpster area near the townhomes. These trashdisposing guidelines are not only common courtesies,but common sense as well.

With your help, we can keep Casa Tierra beautiful!

Love Your LaundryWe realize that there are better things to do with our free timethan our laundry, but when we share a community laundryfacility, it is always courteous to your neighbors (and to yourlaundry), to promptly remove your clothing from the machineswhen they are done washing and drying. Show yourneighbors and your duds that you care…love your laundry byremoving it in a timely manner, so your neighbor can do thesame for his neighbor and so on and so forth.

In addition because we have these fabulous high efficiencywashers, please use Laundry Detergent that is made specificallyfor High Efficiency machines. Also please make sure that youclean out your lint filters after drying your clothing! Finally, ifyou find that the laundry cards or one of the washers or dryersis not working properly, please call 1-800-MAC-GRAYimmediately to place a work order with them. Then, please givethe office a call with your issue so that we can follow up withMAC GRAY. Thank you for your cooperation!

Resident & Guest ParkingWe wanted to give a reminder that all of our residents areassigned one parking space per apartment. If you should findthat someone is parking in your assigned space, please contactthe office at 505-881-9339. In addition, we ask that you leave anice note on the windshield of the car in violation to let themknow that we do in fact have assigned parking at Casa Tierra.The driver belonging to that car may not realize that they arein an assigned spot. Please also kindly remind your guestsand visitors that they are free to park in any unmarkedparking space throughout our community. We would also liketo remind our residents that though we can place notices onvehicles that are in violation of our community policy, ourresidents also have the right to call a towing company in thecase of excessive violations. We strongly encourage all of ourresidents and your guests to be mindful of your parking.Thank you Casa Tierra!
