Yip Wing-sie and Warren Mok, two towering musical

figures in the region, come together in this special

concert that pays tribute to music and the human voice.

They will be joined by soprano Sabina Cvilak, who

recently sang Mimì in Opera Hong Kong’s La Bohème.

Music Director Yip Wing-sie is also the Principal Guest Conductorof the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. She was the winner ofthe 35th Concours International de Jeunes Chefs d’Orchestre deBesançon, France in 1985 and has since collaborated with manyrenowned orchestras and artists such as Fou Ts’ong, ShlomoMintz, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Itzhak Perlman and PinchasZukerman. She has conducted at prestigious venues and festivalsincluding the Vienna Musikverein, National Philharmonic Hall inWarsaw and Beijing Music Festival, among others.

Warren Mok made his European début in 1987 at Deutsche OperBerlin and has since won high acclaim from opera critics aroundthe world, who have compared him with Pavarotti, Gedda, Corelliand Wunderlich. Over the years, he has performed in the world’sleading opera houses and venues including all major operahouses in Europe, Bolshoi Theatre, Sydney Opera House, CarnegieHall, Royal Albert Hall, Berlin Philharmonie and ViennaMusikverein. He has been the Artistic Director of MacaoInternational Music Festival since 2000 and is the founder andArtistic Director of Opera Hong Kong.

Slovenian soprano Sabina Cvilak is no stranger to Hong Kongaudiences. She has graced Hong Kong’s stage twice in 2010, firstas a special guest in Andrea Bocelli’s Asia Tour, and more recentlyin Opera Hong Kong’s production of La Bohème, where she sangthe leading role of Mimì. In Europe and in the USA, Cvilak hasperformed at Wiener Staatsoper, Washington Opera, Los AngelesOpera and Wiener Festwochen and has collaborated with sucheminent conductors as Plácido Domingo, Daniel Harding, FabioLuisi and Seiji Ozawa.
