Our Mission

The mission of KRUU is to give Fairfield a voice and strengthen the community by encouraging creativity, dialogue and community involvement. KRUU is an open, inclusive, diverse forum for music, creative expression, information, and entertainment. It is a non-commercial, non-profit, community-supported low-power radio station with a strong emphasis on locally created and produced programming.

KRUU is:

Community Radio Over 75 locally produced talk and music radio

shows, over 100 volunteer hosts create shows each week!

All topics, all perspectives, all music, all local

First town hall meeting May 11th, 2006 regarding a community media project, group decides to pursue building low power station

Antenna is raised July 4th 2006 Donated tower and installation

Began broadcasting September 30th, 2006 with 24/7 programming

July 4th 2006 Antenna goes up!
