Motala elevators are a simple solution toshipboard requirements, and are particularlysuited to passenger ferry and cruise shipapplications where the design’s stand-alonestructure offers significant advantages.

MacGREGOR’s Motala chain-operated,plug-in elevators are proving themselves tobe highly successful in the latest generationsof aluminium fast ferries, and also in spe-cialist newbuilding and retrofit applicationson board any shiptype. They can be fittedand commissioned within a matter of days,and are ideally suited for installations wherespace is limited, or where the stand-alonedesign – independent of the ship’s structure– has installation and operational advan-tages.

The MC3000 model is a fully-enclosed ele-vator car which is available with severalstandard decorations. The elevator car dooris centre opened by automatic operation,and the elevator landing doors are of thesingle leaf, hinged type, which can be eithermanually operated or equipped with an au-tomatic door opening device. The MC3000model is microprocessor controlled to providegood drive comfort at a speed of 0.3 m/s.

The MC2000 model is an open platformconstruction with bottom plate and one halfheight side wall equipped with push buttonsfor up- and down- direction. This modelwhich is especially designed to provide easywheel chair access, gives safe and reliableoperation at a speed of 0.15 m/s.
