    INTRODUCTION

3 any live lives far removed from the moral teachings eA6ounded in the 9uranF though they had been

sho8n the right 8ay& they turn their faces a8ay5 ;o8ever& such heedlessness 8ill 6revent them from attaining

that su6erior moral character called for by #llah in the 9uran& harming them both materially and s6iritually5

    #nAiety& 6essimism& selfishness& belligerence& hy6ocrisy& arrogance& greed& and other such vices no8 6revailing

in modern societies& are the result of this distance from the true religion and the morality it commands5

;o8ever& some are not even a8are that they are in such a condition& having become so habituated to such

vices that they no longer regard them as negative5 The reason for them finding themselves in this condition is

that they have turned their backs to the true religion of #llah5 ;e refers to this human failing in the 9uran,

    The 3essenger s$s) 43$ Lor&) m$ (eo(le tret this Q"r5n s something to be ignore&4 *S"rt

The notion of loyalty& 8hich 8e are aiming to address in this book& is one that those distanced from the

moral teaching of the 9uran com6letely fail to understandF or 8orse still& 8ill never understand5 #s in all

matters& a great difference eAists bet8een the 8ay believers understand the meaning of loyalty and ho8 non1believers do5 In those societies 8here ignorance of the morality of the 9ur:an is the norm& loyalty is understood

as maintaining a bond bet8een those 8ho love each other& or 8ho share some common relationshi6& taking full

concern of one another:s desires and as6irations5 The loyalty of those 8ho ado6t ignorance as a 8ay of life has

em6tied it of its real meaning& misre6resenting it to disguise the true nature of their actions5

Disbelievers& not having faith& for failing to a66reciate ;is mighty 6o8er& cannot honor #llah 8ith true

loyalty5 They mistakenly believe that living a life in faithfulness to #llah 8ill rob them of all their 8orldly

advantages5 ;o8ever& #llah has informed us that those 8ho are sincerely faithful to ;im 8ill have all the

    6leasures they can imagine& in this 8orld and the 8orld to come5 Disbelievers& ho8ever& are not a8are of this

    truth5

Rather& disbelievers are faithful& but in a different 8ay5 They are faithful to their base natures& and&

ultimately& to Satan5 ;o8ever& the re8ard a8aiting them in the ;ereafter for their devotion to their selfish

desires and to Satan is eternal anguish5

Hn the contrary& believers em6loy the intelligence that #llah has given them to duly a66reciate ;is 6o8er

and infinite kno8ledge5 They kno8 that ;e alone is 8orthy of 6raise& and live their lives 8ithout com6romise in

their adherence to the moral teachings ;e has revealed in the 9ur:an5 They follo8 faithfully and 8ithout doubt

everything they do5 They continually try to 8in ;is favor& not being overcome 8ith fear and anAiety& but

    In order to convince the Pro6het #dam -as/ that 8hat he said 8as true& and thereby& to 8in his trust& Satan

follo8ed his s6eech 8ith an oath5 In many verses of the 9ur:an& #llah informs us that 6eo6le also do the same to

    achieve some 6ersonal benefit5

In the 9ur:an& #llah also informs us that the hy6ocrites 8ith sickness in their hearts offer oaths in this

same 8ay to hide their lack of faith& and to make the believers believe they are sincere5 Hnly through strong

faith in #llah and loyalty to ;im is it 6ossible to remain u6right in the 8ay of #llah& conform to the moral

teachings of the 9ur:an& and to be 6atient through the difficulties involved in inviting others to acce6t true

religion5 @or this reason& it is not 6ossible for those 8ho eAhibit the attributes of hy6ocrites& 8ho are not sincere

    in faith& to eA6end veritable effort& and to follo8 the 8ay of the 6ro6hets in the 6ursuit of #llah:s good 6leasure5The insincere& though& being a8are of this fact& 8ill s8ear an oath in the name of #llah to attem6t to mislead the

6ro6hets and devout believers5 But& 8hen they eA6erience the least adversity& they do not hesitate to breach their

    oath& disregarding 8hat they s8ore before #llah5 The 9ur:an describes the condition of those 8ho 6romised to

band together 8ith believers& but then 8ent back on their commitment 8hen it came time to fight alongside the

To hide their evil intentions& and to attem6t to 8in the trust of the Pro6het -saas/& they s8ear in the name

of #llah5 In this 8ay they thought they could disguise their unfaithfulness and the true intentions hidden in their

hearts& that they might achieve 8hat they 8anted5 ;o8ever& their behavior inevitably reveals their true

intentions5 Hne of the most definite signs of sincere loyalty to #llah is a 6erson:s 8illingness to make sacrifices

for the sake of gaining ;is favor5 Those 8ho have no conce6tion of the significance of such faithfulness inventunfounded eAcuses to avoid self1sacrifice& s8earing in the name of #llah to convince others other8ise5

Hne of the reasons 8hy such 6eo6le s8ear false oaths is because they 8ant to eA6loit the loyalty of the

believers for their o8n advantage5 They think they assume the characteristics of a believer& 8ho is self1

sacrificing& generous and com6assionate& and en

The reason for their s8earing of false oaths is not only to hide their desire for 6ersonal gainF they also

8ant to divert the believers from follo8ing the 8ay of #llah5 ust as Satan s8ore an oath to the Pro6het #dam

-as/ and his 8ife to deceive them and 6revent them from obeying the command of #llah& these 6eo6le o6erate

8ith the same satanic deviousness5 In order to mislead the believers from the true $ay& or& at least& to cause

them some harm& they s8ear oaths as did Satan5 In the 9ur:an& #llah describes that these 6eo6le use oaths as a

    shield,

    The$ m&e their oths into #lo@ n& brre& the !$ o% Allh) so the$ !ill hve h"militing("nishment *S"rt l63"?&l) >.

But& as #llah announces in this verse& the evil designs of these sick1hearted individuals against the

believers al8ays comes to naughtby the 8ill of #llahresulting only in their o8n humiliation5

Their attem6t to 6it believers against one another& by breaking their 8ord& is a clear indication of their

lack of faithfulness5 Those so morally debased may even think they can make a 6ositive im6ression on their

    associates& and& through their false 6romises& feign loyalty5 But& their real intentions 8ill be disclosed 8hen they

8ill be re=uired to demonstrate that loyalty5 #llah describes their false character in the 9ur:an,

The$ s!ore b$ Allh !ith their most ernest oths tht i% !rner #me to them the$ !o"l& be

They s8ore to #llah that they 8ould follo8 their messenger if ;e 8ere to send them one5 But& the hatred

they felt for the messenger sent to them demonstrated clearly that they 8ere not true to their 6romise5

    #s #llah revealed in the 33th verse of Surah #l JImran& they sold their 6romise for a 6altry 6rice,

    Those !ho sell Allh's #ontr#t n& their o!n oths %or (ltr$ (ri#e) s"#h (eo(le !ill hve no

Those 8ho are guilty of this manner of thinking behave similarly 8ith regards to 6ledges they make to

others5 Their refusal to abide by their 8ord& recogniCing the rights of others& derives from the fact that they do

    not 8ant the res6onsibility of loyalty eA6ected of them to interfere 8ith their 6ersonal gain5 @or this reason&

agreements ratified 8ith such 6eo6le 8ill usually end in betrayal5 #llah tells us in the 9ur:an that they do not

abide by their 8ord& but seiCe the first o66ortunity available to break an agreement,

Hne reason 8hy such 6eo6le act 8ith such a lack of conscience is that #llah has hardened their hearts5

They desire to see in the 6ro6hets a trait of su6eriority& corres6onding to their o8n false eA6ectations5 But

these same eA6ectations 6revent them from understanding the true su6eriority to be found in 6ro6hets& that is&

su6eriority in kno8ledge and 6hysical strength& that #llah has granted them5 They do not gras6 the virtue and

su6eriority of the 6ro6hets sent to them& and& therefore& 6ersistently turn their backs to their call5 In the verse

    #ccording to their 8ay of thinking& one 8ho other8ise does not 6ossess any traits of su6eriority& 8ould seekonly to gain a follo8ing5 @or this reason& the leaders of the disbelieving societies& 8ho 8ere 8ealthy and

The corru6t notions of the disbelievers have for ages ke6t them from the 8ay of #llah5 But& true loyalty is

only that 8hich is felt to8ards #llah and ;is messengers5 Those 8ho think other8ise must immediately

abandon all such ideas& try to a66reciate the 6o8er and ma.

The reason disbelievers are so 8eak in character is that they do not have the real sense of the meaning of

loyalty& nor of the strength and determination that this loyalty arouses5 Throughout their lives& disbelievers

ascribe 6artners to #llah& making other gods for themselves5 They s6end their lives devoted to these gods& and

live according to the dictates of this devotion5 But& because the gods they have fashioned cannot 6roffer them

the strength they need to 6ersevere in difficult times& they =uickly lose their devotion and false loyalty for them5

Therefore& difficult and troubling situations are im6ortant determining factors to reveal their true character5

Peo6le:s reaction to trying situations reveals their sham devotion and loyalty to #llah in hy6ocrites and

those 8ith sickness in their heart5 Because they do not have a real sense of the meaning of loyalty and devotion

to ;im& they cannot bear 8ith 6atience in times of difficulty or anAiety5 @or this reason& in order to avoid

situations that are troubling due to the 8eakness of their lo8er1selves& they are constantly offering eAcuses5 In

the 9ur:an& #llah informs us about the insincerity of those 8ho& 8hen faced 8ith such hard times& tried to avoid

them by asking leave from our Pro6het -saas/5 In the follo8ing verse& #llah reveals the 8ords and real

Because these 6eo6le did not believe in #llah 8ith certainty& 8hen the time came for them to make a self1

sacrifice& they 8ere unable to be devoted or loyal to #llah and ;is messengers5 They could not see that

remaining faithful to #llah and ;is Pro6het& and 8orking to earn #llah:s favor& 8ould bring them enormous gain

both in this 8orld and the 8orld to come5 They 8ere deceived by the life of this 8orld& and failed to earn #llah:s

favor through their lack of 6atience5 In Surat an1>isa:& #llah tells us that those 8ho& because they cannot be

6atient in time of difficulty or anAiety& do not live as faith dictates& 6refer to dissociate themselves from

    believers,

In this verse& #llah tells us that these individuals cannot a66reciate the im6ortance and the gravity of the

situation in 8hich they find themselves5 They regard it as a blessing to have been able to avoid an act of self1

    sacrifice& that 8ould other8ise have earned them #llah:s favor& sho8ing clearly ho8 little they understood5

#nother form of insincerity evidenced in these 6eo6le is that they are loyal and agreeable 8hen they get

    8hat they 8ant& ho8& and 8hen they 8ant it5 $hen they live a life of comfort and ease& having gained the things

they 8ant& they do not hesitate to sho8 loyalty to #llah and ;is messengers5 But& 8hen they are re=uired to do

something they do not like& or is not to their advantage& their lack of sincerity immediately comes to light5 In the9ur:an& #llah tells us about the behavior of such individuals,

The moral dis6osition of this hy6ocritical character is far from the self1sacrifice and 6atience that

believers 6ractice to gain #llah:s favor5 Because they do not believe sincerely in their hearts& they are unable to

live in search of #llah:s favorF they cannot submit unconditionally to ;is commands and 6rohibitionsF and& they

cannot believe and trust in the 6ro6hets5 That is a dis6osition only those 8ho are bound by true faith and loyalty

    to #llah can have5 The insincere& on the other hand& 8ill not al8ays be able to hide their false loyalty5 #llah 8ill

    eventually distinguish bet8een these hy6ocrites and the believers& 8ho submit to ;im 8ith faithfulness& and ;e

    THE I3:ORTANCE O7 LOYALTY

L oyalty is one of the highest virtues found among those 8ho sincerely believe in #llah5 The sincere

faithfulness they demonstrate in the 8ay of #llah 6roves they are truly sincere5 It re=uires a great deal of

    6atience& and heart1felt devotion& for one to 6rofess faith in #llah& to live 8ithout eA6ecting some 6rofit& to seek

throughout his life to earn #llah:s favor& to make use of everything he o8ns and loves to gain ;is 6leasure& and

to be 6atient in times of difficulty5 The strength of 8ill to 6roceed in the 8ay of #llah can only come to one

through the love he feels to8ards #llah& and the strong sense of devotion and loyalty that this love incurs5

De6ending on ho8 strong and sincere one:s devotion and submission to #llah is& the greater he 8ill be able to

dra8 closer to ;im& as the 6leasure he derives in seeking to gain ;is favor increases5 The source of this s6iritual

strength that believers 6ossess is the trust and loyalty they feel to8ards #llah5 @or this reason& faithfulness and

loyalty are among the essential characteristics that se6arate believers from others5 $hen a believer s6ends his

6raises this high morality that believers eAhibit5

So& the bond of loyalty the believers feel makes itself kno8n in the 6leasure they derive and

determination they eAhibit 8hen com6lying 8ith the moral teachings of the 9ur:an5

By his trust and submission to #llah in times of difficulty& our Pro6het -saas/ 8as an eAam6le to all

'uslimsF he told believers that they must be steadfast in their faithfulness to #llah at all times for ;e tests

" When you ask for anything ask it from Allah, and if you seek help in Allah. Know that if the

you, and that if they were to unite to do you some injury they could injure you only with what Allah had

    recorded for you.." (irmidhi!

#nother im6ortant benefit of faithfulness is the fact that it unites the believers together5 This renders it

difficult for the evil1intentioned& 8ho 8ant to stir u6 strife among the believers& to 6revent them from

6erforming good deeds& destroy their solidarity to one another& and other destructive 6loys& from insinuating

religion& cannot imitate a believer:s submission to #llahF and& for this reason& they 8ill never be able to achieve

their aims5 It is the strong sense of loyalty and submission to #llah that distinguishes devout believers from

those 8ith sickness in their hearts5 This sense of loyalty also fosters a strong bond that 8ill meld the believers

together throughout their lives5 By their 6rofound loyalty to #llah& believers 8ill be able to both recogniCe and

6rotect themselves from the evil1intentioned 8ho seek to cause them harm5 #s 8ell& their love and trust in other

believers 8ill increase as they recogniCe each other:s sincerity and determination in their cause5 In this 8ay&

    #llah 8ill rid the believers of these evil1intentioned souls and confer u6on them a 6rofound faith 8ith 8hich to

    face any occasion5

#llah tells us in the 9ur:an about the behavior of those 8ho a66ear out8ardly to be believers& but 8ho

In the above1=uoted verses& #llah also informs us that a strong sense of loyalty arouses in an individual a

conscientiousness that 6revents him from 6rocrastinating in conforming to 8hat is right5 If a 6erson is strong in

faith and submission to #llah& his inner sense of loyalty 8ill kee6 him from being indecisive& and hel6 him to

resist giving in to the inclinations of his lo8er1self5 So& armed 8ith this loyalty and sense of submission&

    8hatever the circumstances& he 8ill easily overcome such urges5

#nother im6ortant characteristic that faithfulness gives rise to in a believer is the love and trust they share

bet8een one another5 These sentiments are formed through the sincere effort they 6ut forth in the 8ay of #llah5

    # believer& 8ho makes use of everything he has as a means to earn #llah:s favor& and remains on the straight

lecture at the Sorbonne in )2.& Pasteur said, %>ever 8ill the doctrine of s6ontaneous generation recover from the

    mortal blo8 struck by this sim6le eA6eriment5)

@or a long time& advocates of the theory of evolution resisted these findings5 ;o8ever& as the develo6ment of

science unraveled the com6leA structure of the cell of a living being& the idea that life could come into beingcoincidentally faced an even greater im6asse5

    confession,

+nfortunately& ho8ever& the 6roblem of the origin of the cell is 6erha6s the most obscure 6oint in the 8hole

study of the evolution of organisms5(

#ll the evolutionists: efforts throughout the t8entieth century to eA6lain the origin of life ended in failure5 The

geochemist effrey Bada& from the San Diego Scri66s Institute acce6ts this fact in an article 6ublished in Earth

    magaCine in )**2,

    Today as 8e leave the t8entieth century& 8e still face the biggest unsolved 6roblem that 8e had 8hen 8e

entered the t8entieth century, ;o8 did life originate on Earth!

    THE CO3:LE STRUCTURE O7 LI7E

The 6rimary reason 8hy the theory of evolution ended u6 in such a great im6asse regarding the origin of life is

that even those living organisms deemed to be the sim6lest have incredibly com6leA structures5 The cell of a living

thing is more com6leA than all of our man1made technological 6roducts5 Today& even in the most develo6ed

laboratories of the 8orld& a living cell cannot be 6roduced by bringing organic chemicals together5The conditions re=uired for the formation of a cell are too great in =uantity to be eA6lained a8ay by

    coincidences5 The 6robability of 6roteins& the building blocks of a cell& being synthesiCed coincidentally& is ) in )"*!"

    for an average 6rotein made u6 of !"" amino acids5 In mathematics& a 6robability smaller than ) over )"!"

    is

    considered to be im6ossible in 6ractical terms5

The D># molecule& 8hich is located in the nucleus of a cell and 8hich stores genetic information& is an

incredible databank5 If the information coded in D># 8ere 8ritten do8n& it 8ould make a giant library consisting of

    an estimated *"" volumes of encyclo6edias consisting of !"" 6ages each5

    # very interesting dilemma emerges at this 6oint, D># can re6licate itself only 8ith the hel6 of some

s6ecialiCed 6roteins -enCymes/5 ;o8ever& the synthesis of these enCymes can be realiCed only by the information

coded in D>#5 #s they both de6end on each other& they have to eAist at the same time for re6lication5 This brings the

scenario that life originated by itself to a deadlock5 Prof5 Leslie Hrgel& an evolutionist of re6ute from the +niversity of

San Diego& %alifornia& confesses this fact in the Se6tember )**. issue of the S#ientifi# A&eri#anmagaCine,

It is eAtremely im6robable that 6roteins and nucleic acids& both of 8hich are structurally com6leA& arose

s6ontaneously in the same 6lace at the same time5 Yet it also seems im6ossible to have one 8ithout the other5 #nd so&

at first glance& one might have to conclude that life could never& in fact& have originated by chemical means5

    >o doubt& if it is im6ossible for life to have originated from natural causes& then it has to be acce6ted that life

    8as created in a su6ernatural 8ay5 This fact eA6licitly invalidates the theory of evolution& 8hose main 6ur6ose is to

    deny creation5

    I3AJINARY 3ECHANIS3 O7 EOLUTION

The second im6ortant 6oint that negates Dar8in:s theory is that both conce6ts 6ut for8ard by the theory as

evolutionary mechanisms 8ere understood to have& in reality& no evolutionary 6o8er5

Dar8in based his evolution allegation entirely on the mechanism of natural selection5 The im6ortance he

6laced on this mechanism 8as evident in the name of his book, The !rigin of S"e#ies$ y Means of Natural

    Sele#tion(

    >atural selection holds that those living things that are stronger and more suited to the natural conditions of

their habitats 8ill survive in the struggle for life5 @or eAam6le& in a deer herd under the threat of attack by 8ild animals&

those that can run faster 8ill survive5 Therefore& the deer herd 8ill be com6rised of faster and stronger individuals5

;o8ever& un=uestionably& this mechanism 8ill not cause deer to evolve and transform themselves into another livings6ecies& for instance& horses5

Therefore& the mechanism of natural selection has no evolutionary 6o8er5 Dar8in 8as also a8are of this fact

and had to state this in his book The !rigin of S"e#ies,

    >atural selection can do nothing until favorable individual differences or variations occur53

    LA3ARC;'S I3:ACT

So& ho8 could these favorable variations occur Dar8in tried to ans8er this =uestion from the stand6oint of

the 6rimitive understanding of science at that time5 #ccording to the @rench biologist %hevalier de Lamarck -)3..1)2(*/& 8ho lived before Dar8in& living creatures 6assed on the traits they ac=uired during their lifetime to the neAt

generation5 ;e asserted that these traits& 8hich accumulated from one generation to another& caused ne8 s6ecies to be

formed5 @or instance& he claimed that giraffes evolved from antelo6esF as they struggled to eat the leaves of high trees&

their necks 8ere eAtended from generation to generation5

Dar8in also gave similar eAam6les5 In his book The !rigin of S"e#ies$for instance& he said that some bears

going into 8ater to find food transformed themselves into 8hales over time52

;o8ever& the la8s of inheritance discovered by Gregor 'endel -)2((12./ and verified by the science of

genetics& 8hich flourished in the t8entieth century& utterly demolished the legend that ac=uired traits 8ere 6assed on to

subse=uent generations5 Thus& natural selection fell out of favor as an evolutionary mechanism5

Today& the model that stands for evolution in the 8orld is >eo1Dar8inism5 The theory maintains that millions of

    living beings formed as a result of a 6rocess 8hereby numerous com6leA organs of these organisms -e5g5& ears& eyes&

lungs& and 8ings/ under8ent mutations& that is& genetic disorders5 Yet& there is an outright scientific fact that totally

undermines this theory, 'utations do not cause living beings to develo6F on the contrary& they are al8ays harmful5

The reason for this is very sim6le, D># has a very com6leA structure& and random effects can only harm it5 The

    #merican geneticist B5G5 Ranganathan eA6lains this as follo8s,

@irst& genuine mutations are very rare in nature5 Secondly& most mutations are harmful since they are random&

rather than orderly changes in the structure of genesF any random change in a highly ordered system 8ill be for the

    8orse& not for the better5 @or eAam6le& if an earth=uake 8ere to shake a highly ordered structure such as a building&

there 8ould be a random change in the frame8ork of the building 8hich& in all 6robability& 8ould not be an

    im6rovement5*

    >ot sur6risingly& no mutation eAam6le& 8hich is useful& that is& 8hich is observed to develo6 the genetic code&

has been observed so far5 #ll mutations have 6roved to be harmful5 It 8as understood that mutation& 8hich is 6resented

as an evolutionary mechanism& is actually a genetic occurrence that harms living things& and leaves them disabled5

-The most common effect of mutation on human beings is cancer5/ Hf course& a destructive mechanism cannot be an

    evolutionary mechanism5 >atural selection& on the other hand& can do nothing by itself& as Dar8in also acce6ted5

This fact sho8s us that there is no evolutionary mechanism in nature5 Since no evolutionary mechanism eAists& no

such any imaginary 6rocess called evolution could have taken 6lace5

    THE 7OSSIL RECORD, NO SIJN O7 INTER3EDIATE 7OR3S

The clearest evidence that the scenario suggested by the theory of evolution did not take 6lace is the fossil

    record5

#ccording to this theory& every living s6ecies has s6rung from a 6redecessor5 # 6reviously eAisting s6eciesturned into something else over time and all s6ecies have come into being in this 8ay5 In other 8ords& this

transformation 6roceeds gradually over millions of years5

;ad this been the case& numerous intermediary s6ecies should have eAisted and lived 8ithin this long

    transformation 6eriod5

    @or instance& some half1fish7half1re6tiles should have lived in the 6ast 8hich had ac=uired some re6tilian traits

in addition to the fish traits they already had5 Hr there should have eAisted some re6tile1birds& 8hich ac=uired some

bird traits in addition to the re6tilian traits they already had5 Since these 8ould be in a transitional 6hase& they should

be disabled& defective& cri66led living beings5 Evolutionists refer to these imaginary creatures& 8hich they believe to

have lived in the 6ast& as transitional forms5

If such animals ever really eAisted& there should be millions and even billions of them in number and variety5

'ore im6ortantly& the remains of these strange creatures should be 6resent in the fossil record5 In he #rigin of

    +pecies& Dar8in eA6lained,

If my theory be true& numberless intermediate varieties& linking most closely all of the s6ecies of the same grou6

together must assuredly have eAisted555 %onse=uently& evidence of their former eAistence could be found only amongst

    fossil remains5)"
