Documenting Covid Cases
One of the processes documented on the
website outlines how LPCSC staff will be
documenting and investigating Covid 19
cases, reports of exposure, quarantine, etc.
This will be an important process this year in
order for us to keep track of cases and direct
students and staff associated with exposure.

Documenting Covid Cases
To date we have documented every potential
exposure reported and worked with the
health department and contact tracing center
on positive cases.
We have had three positive student cases
and no adults.

The 2020/2021 school year is scheduled to start on August 20, 2020 for teachers and August 24 for students.
The La Porte Community School Corporation has been monitoring County Covid Data and participating in weekly County Covid 19 meetings since March.
Corporations and Health Departments across Indiana are adopting the use of a color coded threat level and phases of programming framework to guide their programming next school year.

The following Graphic outlines color coded ranges of Covid 19 threat levels which correspond with instructional programming formats for each phase.
The ranges for each threat level correspond closely with the ranges established by the Indiana State Department of Health ranges listed on their website.

We will be making a determination as to which phase of programming we start the school year with on August 17, 2020.
We will use a Covid 19 case positivity average for La Porte County averaged over a 14 day period leading up to August 17, 2020. The data will be taken from the Indiana State Department of Health website:
https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/2393.htm
As of 1.pm today, the last 14 days of data available (7/25-8/7) computes to 5.5 percent positive for La Porte County.
