Dear Sally
I am writing to set out the TOAs support for the Torquay Gateway and Town Centre Regeneration Scheme The project fits well with the objectives of the Torbay Econom ic Strategy which identifies both town centre regeneration and bringing forward new and revitalised employment space in the Torquay gateway as p riorities for growth lt wi ll also deliver on the Local Enterprise Partnership objectives of addressing barriers to business growth and promoting employment
Tourism and retail form a significant part of the Torbay economy with one in six people employed in the Bay working in tourism related activity The town centres play an important part in this and improvements to the road infrastructure to increase accessibil ity will not only greatly improve the attractiveness of T orquay town centre but also increase investor confidence in the area
Improvements to the route through the Torquay gateway into the town centre will build on the investment already being made in the South Devon Link Road enabling traffic to move more easily into the town centre By improving accessibility the scheme will greatly improve the attractiveness of T orquay town centre as a shopping and employment centre to support economic growth and regeneration
Yours sincerely

Dear Adam
I am writing as Chairman of Torbay Business Forum to support the proposed changes in the Torquay Gateway and Town Centre Regenera tion Highway Improvement scheme The Forums membership embraces all who are in business in the Bay and we see ourselves as a platform and a voice for the Business com munity We are comm itted to supporting the economic regeneration of the area and the town centres are crucial to that process
I believe that the proposals put forward are practical and sensible The changes involved woul d represent a clear improvement in the accessibility of the Town Centre helping to make it a more ap peali ng and ultimately more successful environment On behalf of the Forum I would like to express our support Please feel free to use th is e-mail in support of the funding application
With kind regards

Re Torquay Road Improvements
As Chair of the Torbay Branch of the Federation of Small Businesses which represents almost 700 businesses throughout Torbay I am writing to offer my support to the proposals to improve the connectivity of the Harbourside and Town Centre of Torquay with the A380 on the border of the town
[1]1 understand that there will be junction improvements and that the traffic flow around Torre will be reversed to provide a direct route into the town centre with minimal disruption to the route
This will greatly improve the accessibility and attractiveness of Torquay Town Centre and contribute to the regeneration and growth aims and objectives
The alterations to the pedestrian access at the bottom of Fleet Street will also be of significant importance in helping with accessibility and ultimately improving the local economy
Yours faithfully
Angela George FSB Chair- Torbay Branch
