It is my great pleasure to introduce to our dear friends and clients the history of my family and the establishment of The Three Arches Co.The Three Arches was established in the month of January in the year 1975 by a member of the Canawati family. The name of this company was chosen by my mother. My family came

to live in the City of Bethlehem at the beginning of the 17th century. They originally lived in the Green Valley by the name of Antar Valley which is located between Takowa and the Dead Sea.Pilgrims started to come to visit the Holy land in the early Centuries using camels, donkeys and horses to travel around the Holy Land. It was desired for Pilgrims to bring back home a gift to members of their family and friends from this Holy place, the people of Bethlehem started to produce all sort of souvenirs.My family started the art and souvenir business in the year 1853. In the early thirties, my father started to import the Mother of Pearl Shells from the Gulf area. The people of Bethlehem used the Mother of pearl shells to make all types of crosses and small gifts for the pilgrims.In the year of 1975 as the family grew, two of my brothers and two of my cousins that used to work together decided to establish their own business. In 1978 and for the five consecutive years, my Company received a Prize Certificate for the number One business given by the Ministry of Tourism and became known as the most reputable and the leading business in the City of Bethlehem, This success was due to the hard work and the fine services extended to our clients.

As the president of the Three Arches and the head of my family, I started traveling around the world to promote the product of art and crafts that the people of Bethlehem are producing. During my travel,I decided to take in my father's footsteps and started traveling to import all kinds of merchandise from various countries in the world. My aim was to increase the variety of merchandise in our business which will increase our sales and profits. Today, our showroom obtains the widest collection of different items and this additional assortment of merchandise is only found in the showroom of The Three Arches.

Mr. Maher N. Canawati born in 1978 in the city of Peace Bethlehem. Maher strongly belongs to Bethlehem as he grew up in its neighborhoods and alleys gaining the tourism profession from his fathers and grandfathers. He joined the University

of Heidelberg in Germany in 1996, receiving his postgraduate studies degree in the field of economics. He continued his studies and got his Master of International Business Administration (MBA) and Information Technology (MIT). In addition to that, he obtained another postgraduate studies degree in the USA by GIA in the field of Diamonds, pearls and precious stones, Maher had successfully managed to follow the footsteps of his ancestors through establishing the 3 Arches USA as a sister company to The Three Arches Company in the United States, which greatly promoted the march of his grandparents in a new different way. Maher decided to return to his homeland in 2008. To attract more tourism in the dead seasons Maher founded the First International Christmas Festival in Bethlehem. Maher was appointed as a deputy dean of the Catholic Action in Bethlehem, and several important positions. Maher as a businessman and as a municipal council of the city council of Bethlehem for the second term. His full attention is set to better serve the people of his country and work to develop the tourism industry in general.

Maher Canawati founded the first International Christmas festival in 2011 that brought over 70,000 people in eight days. Performers came from all around the world to participate and celebrate Christmas in Bethlehem, the city of Christmas.Furthermore, the festival is usually held from December 16 until December 23 taking place in the Manger Square in front of the Nativity Church. Special performances are available on the 24 of December with previous planning and coordination.You are more than welcomed to come and join us in that special time of the year celebrating the birth of jesus in our little town of Bethlehem.
