A lot of predicting reasons exist why Learning Resource Management and Development System is setup like an internet café. The following are the reasons, to wit:

• First, to monitor the on going activities of every client or workstation in the center.

• Second, to get control over client’s or workstation’s printing activity.

Just for a brief background, the center is using printing machines which are very sophisticated. Some of them are using one set of colored toner which is very expensive. One simple printing error command would lead to a waste of a very costly and expensive toner.

Thus, the center is meticulously configured as such to prevent the possible effect of erroneous printing command later.

• Third, to have access and control on every client’s or workstation’s paraphernalia, etc. i.e. direct sending of message, disabling USBs or simply shutting down the whole network clients when necessary and a lot more.

When the center is setup as such, there is no reason why one client or workstation is left opened or unshutdown.

A. First and foremost, everyone should know the center’s computer arrangement plan.

D. The administrator of the SERVER should now accept the client’s request to continue. After this, client is now ready for use.

For simple analysis, every client’s or workstation’s harddrive is partitioned into two.I. The first is the primary drive which
is indicated by Drive C and is named/labelled LRMDS_2 when using Client No. 2,
II. The second one is the secondary partition which is indicated by Drive D and is named/labelled SAVING DISK.

Now, every user should look only for the shared folder found in the SAVING DISK.
Typically, the shared folder’s name is the name of the primary partition that the user is actually using.

This is where file(s) should be saved by the user. Finally, users should inform the administrator that files have already been saved and are now ready for printing.

What will the administrator do when client’s files are already
saved and are ready for printing?

The administrator must follow these simple steps:
Click START icon at the taskbar;
Click COMPUTER;

At the bottom left side portion of the poped up menu, click NETWORK. Doing this would allow all client-icons with shared folders to appear;
Open file(s) in each SHARED FOLDER and PRINT.

Doing these process would complete the network operation. With step-by-step process, surely anyone could now manage the network with ease.

This LRMDS networking and printing guide is made merely to teach those who would become administrators in the LRMDS. Even if assigned administrators are not around anyone could manage to open the network.
Finally, the administrator who made this simple guide hopes that this will become a useful tool in guiding both administrators and users to have a hassle free networking and research activities in the center.
