Metro cells are low-power, small form
factor devices that can be placed in
almost any location, indoors and out,
close to where the people are. They are

are closer to the subscriber, metro cells

LTE express enables you to immediately
take advantage of Voice over LTE (VoLTE),
which offers subscribers a higher quality
user experience.
LTE is up to three times more spectrally
efficient than 3G and up to six times more
efficient than 2G. So carrying voice traffic
on an LTE network uses less spectrum
than carrying the same traffic on 2G/3G
networks. You can refarm the freed-up
2G/3G spectrum to provide additional
capacity and higher user throughput rates
on your LTE network.
Subscribers also have a better data
communication experience with VoLTE.
With Circuit-Switched Fall-Back (CSFB),
voice and data communications fall
back to the 3G network, on which data
is noticeably slower. If they fall back to
2G, then subscribers lose data altogether.
But VoLTE data always stays in the LTE
network — before, during and after a
voice call.
VoLTE also enables delivery of new
HD voice services, as well as voice-
enriched video telephony, conferencing,
sharing, multimedia and instant
messaging services.

QoE is to combine real-time network
intelligence with policy management to
intelligently manage traffic, optimize
services and control how subscribers
access your network.
Here’s how it works. Mobile intelligence
is constantly gathered from the network.
When network congestion or other
anomalies are detected, the network
monitor sends alerts to the policy
manager, which applies your policies.
These can assign access priority in
congested areas of the network based on
the type of data subscriber (e.g., premium,
average, and heavy users); optimize
video to ensure QoE remains high even
during network congestion; and detect
and manage rogue traffic such as abusive
subscribers or malicious viruses to
ensure high network availability for
legitimate traffic.
You can also ensure QoE by managing
whether subscribers access your network
by 3G, LTE, or Wi-Fi. This can be based
on location, device, QoE measurements
from network intelligence (analytics)
or mobile devices, or on subscriber or
corporate preference. When network
access is policy managed, you can always
guarantee the best access for a specific
time and location. You can also let
subscribers manage their own experience
and expense.
