• Customized versionThe heart of the circulating-oil lubri-cation system, the pressure oil unit, is tailored to each paper or boardmachine. It can be supplied in anysize or version needed.

How it worksIn circulating-oil lubrication systems thepumps in the pressure oil unit deliver largeamounts of oil to the friction points.Depending on the application this is donevia flow meters (VARIOLUB system) orflow limiters (and downstream progressivefeeders). The oil fed into the bearings forlubrication and cooling purposes flowsback through return lines to the oil reservoirof the pressure oil unit. From there the oil is fed into the lubricating circuit againafter recooling and separation from particles.
Places usedCirculating-oil lubrication systems areused wherever rolling bearings have to belubricated and simultaneously cooled withlarge amounts of oil. Dry end, wet end,calender.
ComponentsPressure oil unit, optionally consisting ofan oil reservoir with a max. capacity of30,000 liters, oil preheating, filtrationsystem, plate separator to remove air andparticles as well as an oil recooling installa-tion.

How it worksThe task of flow meters is to divide up thevolumetric flow of the main line into parallel individual flows to meet the need,and, if necessary, to shut off individuallines.
The lubricant coming from the supplyline flows into the gear chamber of thegear-type flow indicator, past the twogears all the way to the throttle screw.The flow rate is regulated by the choice(fine throttle or coarse throttle) and thesetting of the throttle screw.
The oil flow turns the gears in the gear chamber. A NAMUR switch installedabove one of the gears detects the revolutions of the gears and thus the flowrate.

How it worksThe task of flow limiters is to divide up thevolumetric flow from the pressure oil unitinto parallel individual oil flows and to“limit” them to meet the need, i.e. to keepthem constant.
The individual flows are predefined witha nozzle. The lube point is supplied directly or via a progressive feeder down-stream of the flow limiter.

How it works
Monitoring unitsThe pulses generated by the gear-typeflow indicator are detected by a pulsemonitoring unit.
The individual IPM-12 units can becombined via an RS 232 interface to forma group. Fault and warning signals arereported via floating contacts as groupalarms.
Moreover, with a gateway it is also possible to transfer the individual flowrates to the process control level viaProfibus DP.
Display and programming unitThe display and programming unit is used for the local display of flow rates and to set specified values for groups of upstream pulse measuring units.

Dual-line centralized grease lubrication system
How it worksDual-line centralized grease lubricationsystems consist of two main lines that arealternately pressurized or relieved of pres-sure. They are suitable for oil with a ser-vice viscosity greater than 50 mm/s andalso for grease up to NLGI grade 3.
Places usedDual-line centralized grease lubricationsystems are mainly used wherever oper-ating conditions are found like those, forinstance, in the wet end section of papermachines. There the grease performs theadditional task of sealing the bearings offagainst water and dirt.
Vogel centralized grease lubricationsystems are designed for grease rangingfrom NLGI grade 000 to NLGI grade 3.

How it worksWith this lubrication system every lubepoint is supplied directly with grease via aline from the pump. The multiline greasepump has as many as 24 outlet ports.
The delivery rate is infinitely adjustableat each pump element. If more than 24friction points have to be supplied withlubricant, it is possible to install progressivefeeders downstream of the direct lines.
Multiline grease pumps are suitable for oil with a service viscosity greater than 50 mm2/s and also for grease up to NLGI grade 3.
