BONUS 2 : Chuck Hickok

I now put a NUMBER (1 through 4) in each envelopes. I don't have the numbers on the outside. (There is no need to have the number on the outside - other that's what others do.)

The helpers open the envelopes ... and call out their number ... and the "4 digit number" opens the padlock ... then proceed with the rest of the routine.

This might hide the method more from your four helpers and still amaze the audience.

BONUS 3 : Steve

I realized if you eliminate the prediction, "The spectator that takes the blue paper ball will be the person with envelope number four," you need not worry where any the participants sit. You would

still force the blue paper ball on the participant whose clothing you describe, so nothing else would need to be changed.

I don't think the elimination of that part of the prediction detracts a lot from the routine, especially since you give the "reading" of the person with the blue paper ball.

What you gain, is that you truly can have the spectators sit wherever they want, even when performing the routine without an assistant.

is an If you want to work alone and want to keep the prediction of the envelope number of the "blue paper" man: Just have 4 sets of 4 envelopes prepared with all 4 possible numbers on the

"blue paper man" envelope. Put them in 4 jacket pockets, during performance you only have to use the right set depending on

the position of the blue paper man.

BONUS 5 : Ony Carcamo

Instead of using a transparent force bag to force the blue paper ball to one of the four assistants on stage, we can also use Max Maven's Kurotsuke technique to identify who got the blue paper

ball. Revealing who got the blue paper using this method can be an added treat. But when we use this, of course we have to modify the other parts of your chair routine accordingly.

BONUS 6 : Stefan Olschewski

Usually I work without an assistant, so I was looking for a method for the clothing prediction without having to force the chair the predicted person sits on. As you are pointing to the people to come up

on stage anyway, why not have just one but four clothing predictions referring to the four people you invite on stage. The only problem is to switch the correct prediction in and I would use a simple in-dex for this. The best idea to hold paper balls are egg cartons. You can close the whole thing and the balls will stay safely in place. I use a similar index for a different effect and it works just great!

The inside of the lid can be used to shortly describe the content of the prediction of the respective ball. Before the show, you would write not only one but four clothing predictions on blue paper balls,

place them in the index and have three more colored balls ready. During the performance, you would now openly remove one ball at a time from your suitcase or any other cover and place it in-

side the forcing bag. Once you know who took envelope four, you can take the respective ball from the index when it is time to place the blue ball inside of the bag and you're done. That way, it does

not matter where they sit, your prediction will always be correct.

BONUS 7 : Luca Volpe

I really like Chuck Hickokʼs idea that he put the numbers inside the envelope which opens the lock. If we want to still keep the ESP revelations we can print on the back of the numbers the ESP

symbols, so that we have the double effect: The ESP sequence predicted under the chairs and the sequence of the four numbers that opens the envelopes.


We can also use colors instead of symbols and if you donʼt want to use the chairs you can use a kind of plastic circular mat (like the ones that are used in kitchens, gardens etc..). Imagine this: you

call the four spectators and they each choose which mat to stand on (each mat has a different color), They “choose” the envelopes (here you can use Chuck Hickokʼs idea n.2) and after behind

the numbers inside the envelopes is a color which corresponds to the mat that they are standing on. For this you only need to carry with you four mats and you donʼt need to stick anything under the

chairs. The prediction in the box can be as follows: I will predict that Number 3 will be on the color yellow...and so on. In this case you need to put in the forcing bag 4 colored balls that are different colors to the mats, or you can even put 4 small opaque plastic balls (all the same color)and inside

just one ball you can put the “wearing prediction”, like this the others spectators can open their plas-tic balls to check that are empty.

BONUS 9 : Max Krause

For the bill revelation Max Krause suggests that we can use a “Teleport Envelope” which can be handled by the spectator.

BONUS 10 : Seth Kramer

I think the routine is well constructed, however, I feel that the revelation of the serial number of the bill and having the last (or first) four number open the lock is a bit "too perfect".

My feeling is that the bill is the single road that leads back to the solution of the effect should a spectator try to reverse engineer it (at least for the combination of the lock bit).

My suggestion for you is to use Alan Wong's Dream Lock for the lock on the box. This way, you can have your spectators seated in the chairs and tell them that you are going to project the combination

of the lock into their minds one number at a time and the number they choose opens the box.You could also eliminate the box altogether and use one of the gravity locks with the plexiglass

frame. Have the spectators each take a seat. Take one of the small envelopes which contains the ESP card and a key. You control which key opens the lock. You remove the prediction in the plastic

frame. It has the order of the ESP symbols. It states the person holding envelope three will have the key that opens the lock. It also has the description of the person as well.

Yes, I realize that you lose the prediction of the serial number, but I think the trade-off is worth it.


More than a bonus this is something to think about it: It has been over several years that I have developed my “BOLD DIRECT MOVE” and I find so many

other applications for it that you wonʼt believe. I have other routines (which I may share one day) where I use this move. I want to leave you to think and to apply this move to other effects or to even invent your own. Imagine: “Live and dead” routine, psychometry, you can force the position/event of

photos, cards, objects...the limit is just your imagination. I will be happy to share some ideas using this concept with you
