Team Size requirements – 6 members (see rules need 4 to play) Types of play

• Recreation league- more lenient on setting, can't touch the net, can't attack/block a serve, can't carry (catch or hit ball in 2 different motions), rest of volleyball rules apply

• Competitive league - strict on setting, rest of rules above apply Pitcher Races are also part of summer volleyball, stay tuned! Must be 21 or older to participate.

*The Team Captain will be the main point of contact. The Captain is responsible for gathering any team information, providing the team with information, coordinating make-up games, ensuring subs sign waivers and checking for league updates.

GUIDLINES

• Play 2 sets to 21 and 1 set to 15-- the game to 15 isn't necessary unless the first 2 sets are split

• There can be an all-girls team, but no all boys team • Must be 3 girls on the court at all times • Must be there within 5 minutes after game time or you forfeit • Play through rain, not thunder/lightening • Game cancellations will be communicated to the Team Captain. It is the Team Captains

responsibility to communicate to the rest of the team. • Rescheduled games will be played prior to league games M-T or Friday and Saturday

during open play time • Forfeiting games can be done with 48-hour notice. When your team is unable to play

and re-schedule it will be considered a forfeit • No glassware on courts

Inappropriate behavior is not tolerated. If it is toward another team, a team member or a referee a warming will be given. If it continues a point will be rewarded to the opposing team. If it continues beyond that the game will be called and the player at fault will be asked to leave. GAME RULES

• A serve may not be attacked or blocked • Net serves are allowed • You can receive a serve in a setting position as long as it is not a lift or held ball • Open hand tips are allowed • A hard-driven ball may be a double hit by a player as long as it is not a lift • Players cannot be in the net or go under the net to the other team’s side at any point

during play • Setting/doubles will be called based on level of play— recreational or competitive

league • Otherwise, all indoor volleyball rules apply! If you aren’t sure about a rule or aspect of

the game, please ask your ref! • No carry in food or drink allowed

ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

In consideration of the services of Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub, employees and all other persons or entities associated with it, I agree as follows: • Although the Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub taken reasonable steps to provide me with appropriate

equipment and skilled staff so I can enjoy this activity for which I may not be skilled, I acknowledge that this activity is not without risk. Certain risks cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of this activity. The same elements that contribute to the unique character of this activity can be causes of loss or damage to my equipment, accidental injury, and illness or in extreme cases, permanent trauma or death.

• Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub does not want to frighten me or reduce my enthusiasm for this activity, but thinks it is important for me to know in advance what to expect and to be informed of the inherent risks. The following describes some, but not all, of those risks. Sand volleyball activities take place outdoors, where participants are subject to a variety of risks. Activities vary and include such actions as running, jumping, catching, and physical contact with others during participation in “contact” and “non-contact” activities. Falling, slipping, sliding, tripping, bumps, bruises, cuts, abrasions, contusions, dislocations, broken bones, pulled muscles, fatigue and sunburn can potentially be a part of this participation.

• I understand the description of these risks is not complete and that other unknown or unanticipated risks may result in property loss or injury. I agree to assume responsibility for the inherent risks identified herein and those inherent risks not specifically identified. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, no one is forcing me to participate, and I elect to participate in spite of and with full knowledge of the inherent risks. I acknowledge that engaging in this activity may require a degree of skill and knowledge different from other activities and that I have responsibilities as a participant

• I am aware of the level of exertion required to participate in this activity. I have the necessary skills as listed on the information sheet to participate. I authorize the Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub to obtain or provide emergency hospitalization, surgical or other medical care for me.

• I understand that the laws of the State of Wisconsin govern this Assumption of Risk and Personal Responsibility. I certify that I am fully capable of participating in this activity, without causing harm to others or myself. Therefore, I, my parents or guardians if I am a minor, assume full responsibility for bodily injury, death and loss of personal property and expenses suffered by myself as a result of those inherent risks and dangers identified herein and those inherent risks and dangers not specifically identified, and as a result of our negligence in participating in this activity. I am responsible for reading the current sports rules and agree that I will abide by all rules, policies and procedures. I also agree to pay any related fees or penalties associated with my team’s participation in this activity as outlined in the Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub fee policy. I acknowledge that racial epithets, anger motivated outburst, demeaning, degrading and derogatory remarks, homophobic comments or intimidating actions are unacceptable forms of behavior. I agree that I will not participate in said behavior during participation in sand volleyball activities because it is contrary to the Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub standards. I also agree that any spectators associated with my participation in this activity and in attendance will be held to the same standard as participants.

• I hereby grant full permission to record any or all of my participation in this activity for photos, motion pictures, TV, radio, recordings, video tape, e-mail, web page and other media known or unknown, and use them, no matter by who taken, in any manner for publicity, promotion, advertising, trade, or commercial purposes without any reimbursement of any kind due to you, or the need to pay you any fee.
