Duties as MasterAHT single trip for delivering material/cargo barge; Master’s responsibility involved maneuvering tug with barge “on the hip”, due to vessel main propulsion not having clutches, as with Mac Tide 65 (ex Jaramac 65), they were direct reversible main engines, which meant that they had to come to full stop before and every time their propulsion were reversed, be it forward or in reverse. Page 9: LuisMcNab; Updated PersonalCV- 28-04-15 + SeaService Time

Duties as MasterAHT involved in Anchor Handling and Derrick Lay Barge towing/positioning operations with McDermott DLB offshore Jakarta, Indonesia; Master’s responsibility involved maneuvering tug for Anchor Handling, which was very challenging due to vessel main propulsion not having clutches, they were direct reversible marine engines. This meant that engines had to come to full-stop every time, before propulsion could be reversed, be it forward or astern. Maneuverability was limited / dictated by air pressure, since uncontrolled reversal of engine propulsion resulted in excessive air use, quickly rendering main engine inoperable after few minutes of such use, therefore risking potential accidents occurring when engaged in such operations… _________________________________________________________________

COMPANY: Zapata Gulf Marine, Harvey, LA (USA) to work for Mobil Producing, NigeriaPOSITION: Master AHTS Trafalgar Service (BHP 3,200/391 GT) Transatlantic VoyageDURATION: 1-May-91 - 2-Aug-91

Duties as MasterDry-docked vessel in Houma Quality Shipyard prior to initiating transatlantic voyage to Nigeria towing another vessel, which was also designated to work there (Nigeria); Master’s responsibility in addition to vessel daily ops, involved ensuring ship was prepared for journey, which included requesting necessary navigation equipment, such as sextant, plotting charts, pilot charts among others. Likewise preparing route plan and ensuring all necessary equipment to start work in Nigeria were on board, according to job description received from that area. Towing initiated at port of Fourchon, LA (USA) by connecting towline whilst alongside dock loading fuel (tow alongside). Upon departing, vessel was moved away from dock with tow secured alongside, made exit from port of Fourchon, releasing tow after having cleared breakwater, effectively initiating voyage. Route plan was to transit Straits of Florida, taking old Bahamas channel to near Puerto Rico and then straight across North Central Atlantic with intentions to make port call at Abidjan, Ivory Coast (as having been instructed). It was clear upon first day of transit that vessel wasn’t carrying sufficient Engine Oil for trip, according to consumption, though oil storage tank was topped off (full), therefore a port call in Puerto Rico was arranged in order to load additional oil. Upon completing this stop, voyage was resumed and ended safely in port of Abidjan couple weeks later. Additional modifications to vessel were done in Abidjan to facilitate vessel towing ability for charterer Rig Moves offshore Nigeria, as recommended by company rep that met vessel on arrival. Upon completion of such modifications, vessel departed to port of Duala, Cameroon in order to recover equipment from other vessel, which was to be relieved by Trafalgar Service from it's current job with Mobil Oil in Nigeria. This done, vessel departed to Onne Port, Nigeria for initiating job. Upon completing voyage, I agreed to stay over for couple days, then left to start job with McDermott International operations in Warri, Nigeria_________________________________________________________________

To clarify, this job was accepted during oil crunch of the 1980’s when there were few anchor handling jobs available, anywhere! _________________________________________________________________
