Instrument Templates Configuration In combination with the broad product coverage, the user of Lumina
Treasury can create instrument templates for frequently traded
products following market conventions. Instrument templates
carry all required parameters and default values to identify the
instrument and valuate transactions.
Instrument templates are then directly plugged into trade capture
screens so the user is not required to input every single parame-
ter when capturing the transaction, optimizing input time and
minimizing errors. If the deal involves a non-standard products or a
slight variation over a template, the trade entry screens contains all
necessary fields to change the default values on some fields avoid-
ing mistakes at deal capture.

Trade Capture Coverage Lumina Treasury provides multiple trade capture
screens for each of the different family of financial
products. All trade entry screens share a standard
look & feel and usability features while incorporating
product specifics.
Similar functionality to capture booking data,
counter party specifics, fees and general a behav-
ior improves usability and friendliness to the user.
Enhancing product specifics such as instrument
identification, pricing, and days conventions for each
family of products simplifies the input of deals into
the application.
All screens maximize the use of default values and
filtering in order to ease input and minimize capture
errors. Less frequently used fields are moved to ad-
ditional tabs to allow the user to visually identify key
values
All operations integrated into Lumina Treasury,
could be potentially fed from other trade capture
systems (registration systems, market platforms,
etc) by using a Lumina propietary interface (API)
for transactions and instrument (XML).

Core Portfolio Management Tools
Lumina Treasury provides four main types of portfolio management tools:
Exposure-Inventory, Risk, Liquidity-Cash and PnL.
Portfolio management tools can be utilized in any portfolio or group of port-
folios independently of who is the effective investor (E.g.. own portfolios, client
portfolios, an investment fund, etc.). This means that management tools can be
used either by the trader, the private banker or the fund manager for the risk
control of the portfolio.
Books and Booking groups
The books and booking group functionality enables the structuring of the own
portfolios.
Each books acts as a virtual container of positions that will later be used for
reporting purposes.
Besides the books, the booking groups functionality allows the configuration of
hierarchies, giving a more flexible solution and simplicity for the report generation.
It is also possible to incorporate Virtual Books for simulations.
Pre-Trading Workflow
Transactions captured in Lumina are eventually exposed to a Pre-Trading Workflow demanding validation, confirmation and approval before
transferring to Middle Office. However, deals under this workflow are available for Risk & PnL calculation conveniently.
6
BUSINESS FUNCTIONALITY
Analytical Reports
• Asset Inventory
- Provides the nominal position (Lineal and non-linal) on each asset on the portfolio with its main characteristics.
- Options and futures management showing both nominal positions (Traded contracts) and underlying position equivalents.
- The report provides Greeks, Debt Analytics and Credit exposure in terms of issuers and counterparties.
- It incorporates a money-market consolidation picture to measure the position and pnl of listed instruments and its collateralized
operations (Repos/rentals), reporting the trading WAP price associated.
• Liquidity and Cash Management
- A consolidated cash balance in each currency and the expected projected flows in the future, using a layout curve when desired (Gap
Analysis), including real and synthetic (Derivatives) positions.
- Projections include all financial product cash events as coupon payments and debt maturities, fixed or estimated.
- It is possible to stress the portfolio under a given scenario to visualize the impact on the above figures.
• Currency Exposure
- Lineal and Non-Lineal MTM for every currency, proyected through layout curves.
• Investment Portfolio Return (Performance)
- Portfolio Performance by dates ranges, measuring the constribution per instrument and including the daily evolution.
- Minimum Risk Portfolio and Efficient Portfolios.
• Asset oriented reports contain analytics as duration, YTM and spreads among others used for debt oriented portfolios.
• FX / FWD Inventory including Greeks.
• Futures and Options Inventory with FIFO PnL.
7
P&L Management
Lumina Treasury calculates P&L at transaction and position level supporting several valuation methodologies even Latin America local
specific ones.
Different sources of markets environment can be configured for each instrument and portfolio to accommodate to different busi-
ness needs.
A variety of calculations takes place on-line with breakdowns ranging from the business and product origin to the risk factor P&L
explain.
• Figures can be broken down by several aspects:
- Business hierarchy P&L: provides the P&L of the portfolio and the subtotals for each layer of the business structure defined in
the system
- Investment P&L: provides the P&L at product and instrument level in each portfolio or group of portfolios.
- Time break P&L: provides P&L daily, month to data, year to date and inception to date
- Sales P&L: provides the P&L at trade level as the result of the quotes difference between the price/rate levels traded to clients and
the one traded by the treasury
- High Level PnL: fast performance report for high volume of position and transactions, summarizing all temporal PnL figures at
Book and Product level.
• Lumina Treasury’s calculation engine splits the P&L in all its risk factors for every position/transaction. The split is divided in time
P&L (carry), price/rate movement P&L, new deals P&L, FX P&L and amendments P&L This view gives the user a detailed explanation
of causes of a P&L movement.
PnL report can be executed in real-time for previous dates, allowing back-value events and its operational impact being applied
without manual adjustments.

BUSINESS FUNCTIONALITY
Value at Risk (VaR)Lumina Treasury incorporates the ability to generate real time VaR report by historical simulation, Back Testing and Stress Scenario. Value at Risk
can be calculated reporting:
• Portfolio VaR.
• Individual VaR and Marginal VaR.
• Breakdown by Book or Primitive Risk Factor.
Lumina can be used as a centralized repository for calculation of VaR, taking positions from another source, and calculing the VaR in real time, both for
regulatory reporting or limits’ controls, for example.
Parameterization
VaR calculation requires a number of definition to be established in terms of the Risk Map: currencies, indices, instruments and curves are sum-
med up into the VaR map as “Primitive Risk Factors”.
9
BUSINESS FUNCTIONALITY
VaR Reports
This module is capable of generating VaR reports with different criteria based on the previously defined parameters. Each report can be viewed
using different layouts defined by each user. These views will be defined as per each user’s need.
In this way, the user will be able to validate not
only the totals per grouping criteria, but also
the detail enclosed is those groups.
The information can be reviewed using the drill down function in
order to check summary totals as well as the analytic information
for each report.
This analytic information is very important, because the totals calcu-
lation is not a direct arithmetic sum of the components.
10
BUSINESS FUNCTIONALITY
Back Testing
The module is capable of generating Back Testing reports, which will expose the
effectiveness of the previous VaR figures already calculated.
These reports will used the previously calculated figures and compare them to
the actual figures calculated using the market data input in the application.
The difference between the figures will denote any deviation and the reports
will highlight those outside the confidence levels.
Stress Testing
The Stress Testing functionality allows the user to tweak certain market indicators in order to analyze the impact in porfolio reports. Those scenarios can
be a percentual or absolute impact on the primitive risk factor, using current market snapshot or best/worst ocurrence in the system history. Thus, LT
obtains a complete revaluation of the portfolio visualizing the impact on MtM and liquidity (both real and projected) as the result of the apllied scenario.
Any primary risk factor can be tweaked: curves, indexes, market prices and exchange rates.
Using this feature, the user will be able to generate alternatives market realms that applied to the VaR reports, will denote any potential problems.
This tool is extremely helpful for users that are able to predict market changes and need to analyze the impact those market changes will have on the
managed portfolios.
11
Risk and Exposure Management
Risk and Exposure management constitutes one of the most important tools for the portfolio managers to maximize the performance of
their investments while keeping risks in a controlled environment.
Several types of risks can be monitored from Lumina Treasury at a portfolio or business level as follows:
Financial Risk Factors
• Currency exposure:
- Calculates the actual position in each of the currencies where
a portfolio is invested directly via assets or FX derivatives.
- Provides equivalent currency delta position, Gamma and
Vega (exposure to FX volatility).
• Interest Rate exposure
- Lumina Treasury calculates the price value of a basis point for
every position in the portfolio.
- The calculation is performed using scenario simulation on
each point of the curve reporting all partial durations.
- Curve risk management is performed at pillar level; reporting
DV01 at original curve structure or in a standard curve layout
using weighted-distance risk allocation.
• Asset exposure
- Provides price delta and equivalents for futures and options
on assets and the price Gamma and Vega.
Credit/Market Debt Durations split
• Lumina Treasury computes both credit and market durations
separating the credit from
the market risk for all debt
instruments.
The functionality is available
for plain vanilla and local
products and is configurable
by the user at instrument
level.
Re-fixing Risk
• Provides the exposure on an index used to re-fix a coupon or
other element of the system.
VaR
• Value at Risk calculation and monitoring on any portfolio
following the historic methodology.
BUSINESS FUNCTIONALITY
12
Performance Tool
Any investment Portfolio Manager will require a set of tools for measuring the performance of a given portfolio. To support these needs
Lumina Treasury performs a set of complex analytics that can be applied to fund portfolios, client portfolios and own portfolios as well.
The performance analytics toolset contain:
• Accumulated and Annualized yield for customized periods.
• Volatility.
• Daily portfolio valuation with incoming and outgoing cash flows.
• Historical yield of closing months and years.
• Performance-Risk analysis.
• Best & Worst historical months.
• Patrimonial and yield evolution.
• Customized and standard reporting period of analysis.
• Back-value date reports.
• Benchmarks comparison and analytics (Sharpe).
• Risk free investment comparison and analytics.
• Asset allocation and portfolio composition.
• Comparison of volatility and yield against an index.
• Sharpe ratio and Beta by sector.
Examples of the reports generated
include:
• Portfolio investment composition:
shows the percentage of investment
expressed in market value for each of
the assets of the portfolio.
• Performance metrics: reports the daily,
month to date and inception to date
performance of the portfolio and the
contribution of each asset
• Performance volatility and risk/perfor-
mance ratio and comparison to market
benchmarks

BUSINESS FUNCTIONALITY
Limits
Lumina Treasury is able to perform an online exposure validation when capturing trades (ex ante). This validation can be configured just as an alarm
raiser or if needed, to prevent the trade from being captured. Any trades generating limit excesses can be monitored and approved in order to let
them continue with the operational workflow.
Additionally, Lumina Treasury incorporates most of its front office analytics to be defined in ex-post limits, including a number of defined combina-
tions. Thus, it is possible to define ex-post limites (warned post trade-capture) for MTD, ITD, IDA, YTD PnL, MtM (lineal and derivatives), 1-Day VaR,
Mod Duration, Delta, MTD PnL + 1-D VaR, etc.
For instance, when using this functionality to
control trading limits, several different expo-
sure lines can be configured:
• Local FX limits
• Daily and monthly limits based on the
amount of money operated.
• Mark to Market limits
• For various products updated online
when capturing trades.
• NDF limits
• FX limits for non deliverable forwards
based on the potential exchange rate
refix.
• Loans, Calls, etc. limits
• For any product combination.
• Using or not trades’ collateral.
• Net or absolute exposure.
• MtM (exposure) Limit for a counterparty or
debt issuer.
• MtD PnL Limit for a given set of traders.
• Duration Limit for all the portfolios in the
business.
• Liquidity Limit: Liquidity GAP for asset and
liabilities for a given tenor (e.g. 3M).
• Other Limites: DTM/Maximum Tenor, MTM
ex ante & ex post, Credit Potential Exposure,
Minimum Spread, Off Market Rate.
Limits can be defined for:
• Economic Groups.
• Clients/Counterparties.
• Books/Traders.
• Booking Groups/Portfolios.
They can be declared for the whole universe or
just for particular cases.
It is possible to indicate the applicability in terms
of products, percentages, issuers, currencies and
specific deal details (Sign, collaterals, etc).

ENVIRONMENT CONFIGURATION
User Environment
The system is based on user/role model access grants where
each user is associated to roles and the roles are used to grant
access to business functions.
The permission system is bi-dimensional where administrators
can grant access to functional elements (i.e. trade capture) and
data element (an entity, a portfolio, or a curve) providing
maximum control and security.
In addition to this, several reports are provided to list user access
to the system, operations performed and changes applied to
any system entity. All audit entries are recorded online.
Batch Reporting Module
This module enables the user to configure a set of reports with
its own parameters for execution at a certain time of the day.
The system then will automatically generate the reports and
store them in a predefined shared place or e-mail them to a
given account.
Market Environment Configuration
Market environments can be utilized as a way to valuate a complete portfolio or group of them under different perspectives of the market.
As an example, portfolios can be valuated either using Bloomberg or Reuters as sources of market data or under official bank market
data. A good management of the market environment enables traders to handle different market data scenarios to better control their
risks.
Screens used to define the market environment include:
• Currency rates
- Support for multiple closing rates for a single currency, enabling different portfolios to revaluate at different closing levels if
desired.
- Inflation currency support with automatic settlement in payable currency.
• Curve rates
- Support for both standard and local LA benchmark conventions (i.e. TIIE curve).
- Soporte Curvas Sintéticas (BASE + BASIS) / Synthetic Curves Support (BASE + BASIS).
• Market prices
- Support for specific quote convention, quotes on yield, spread, and nominal/residual.
- Support for multiple prices for a single instrument which enables the user to price the same asset for different regulations i.e. same
bond priced differently in a client portfolio and in an internal regulated fund.
- All market data can be easily uploaded in the system from various sources, like MS Excel®, data providers (e.g., Reuters, Bloomberg),
etc.
