Lunch DateLunch Date BlockThese instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to the block diagram for fabric placement. Sew two clean white solid or light gray solid triangles to opposite sides of a 67/8” assorted print square. Press. Sew two clean white solid or light gray solid triangles to the remaining opposite sides to create the Lunch Date Block. Square up block to measure 9½”. Repeat to make 20 Lunch Date Blocks (10 clean white and 10 light gray).

Sashing and Lunch Date Block Refer to the quilt photo for block placement. Sew a Lunch Date Block to a peony solid 1½” x 9½” rectangle. Repeat to make a row with 4 Lunch Date Blocks and 3 sashing rectangles. Make 5 rows labeled A.

Posts and SashingRefer to the quilt photo for fabric placement. Sew a peony solid 1½” x 9½” rectangle to a pepper solid 1½” square. Repeat to make a row with 4 sashing rectangles and 3 posts. Make 4 rows labeled B.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to the quilt photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 49½”. Top and bottom borders should be 41½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 51½”. Top and bottom borders should be 49½”.

Border 3Side borders should be 59½”. Top and bottom borders should be 53½”.

Border 4Side borders should be 63½”. Top and bottom borders should be 65½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Millie’s Closet Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
