Nicole and I focused our efforts on “faith application.” Our goal is that the children can take Bible stories and apply them to everyday life. We encouraged them to share what they had heard with their (most of the time) un-churched families. Students participated with songs, color sheets, games, and snack time. Substitute Sunday School Teachers

We normally teach Sunday school for about 60 students at Euon Lutheran Church. This past month we had an opportunity to substitute teach at another Lutheran church in Tuen Mun.

We would quickly hopped on to some public transit to help teach another Lutheran church’s Sunday school lessons. Thankfully there was enough time in-between our responsibilities and their Sunday school.

Nicole and I focused our efforts on “faith application.” Our goal is that the children can take Bible stories and apply them to everyday life. We encouraged them to share what they had heard with their (most of the time) un-churched families.

Students participated with songs, color sheets, games, and snack time. But most importantly, it was a chance to be exposed to the Gospel Message.

UPDATE MISSION HONG KONG FEBRUARY 2014

!The Hong Kong students were able to share Chinese culture with them as well. Students made “lucky goldfish” out of red packet envelopes. Kids were able to try many new foods. They also practiced writing some Chinese characters.!!After the Australian students returned to their homes, the Hong Kong kids only had to wait one week to visit them. Currently (as of this writing) 15 Hong Kong students are in Australia. They will be able to experience new and exciting things together this week.!!Nicole and I really enjoyed seeing students experience cross-cultural ministry at a young age. It was enjoyable to see them “trying out each other’s cultures” through food, crafts, music, etc. It seems that recess time was enjoyable for all of the students.!!Often times we think well within our congregation’s own walls, but it is always enjoyable to watch people interact in the global church. We pray that in the future we can connect schools in America to some of the Lutheran school in Hong Kong in a similar fashion.!!Visit each of the schools’s websites who were involved:!!Holy Trinity Lutheran School!Horsham, Victoria, Australia!www.htls.vic.edu.au!!LCK Primary School - Tuen Mun, Hong Kong!www.lckps.edu.hk!!Siu Leun Lutheran School - Tuen Mun, Hong Kong!www.siuleunsch.edu.hk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
