My dream when I was young was to build a Mars rover. Having made robots in pursuit of that dream, today I am running a startup called Luxrobo. Luxrobo is a combination of the words lux (unit of light) and robot. This symbolizes LUXROBO’s aspiration to make the future smarter and brighter through robotics.

Luxrobo has developed a semiconductor operating system (OS) that can control robots in a stable and organic way. We also have robot-based technologies such as three-stage compression telecommunications technologies, virtualization parameters, and multi-compile technologies, which makes affordable semiconductors comparable to high-end models. Using these technologies, we created a small modular robot called MODI in 2014. MODI is a modular robot software toolkit that allows young students to make anything they want. Children can naturally learn how a robot works as well as basic science and coding, while having fun playing with the toolkit. Small MODI, which can make a big difference in children’s futures, has been adopted by educational institutions in 50 countries around the world, including the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education as a software toolkit. With MODI, we are contributing to realistic software education and unleashing children’s potential.

That’s not all for Luxrobo! We are also putting a lot of effort into R&D to expand into the IoT business based on MODI’s success. In the future, Luxrobo will continue to move forward like we first planned! With all our determination and young energy, we endeavor make the future brighter through robotics.Thank you.

Luxrobo is a mixture of the words lux (unit of light) and robot. This is a symbol of our great

aspiration to make the future brighter through robotics! The hexagons in the logo signify a

diverse society and world, and the dot in the logo refers to Luxrobo’s technology and platform.

This logo symbolizes Luxrobo’s founding philosophy.

MODI is a mixture of of the English word module, which means a unit, and the Korean word

madi, which means a connection. MODI’s brand identity symbolizes its feature that connects

modules with different functions to create something new. Its smooth, round design represents

rectangular modules in a familiar way.

MODI uses 4 brand colors. Celadon blue, which represents a futuristic, electronic, and creative

color, is used as the main color. Through harmony with purple, orange, and yellow, we represent

modular functions.

Luxrobo’s smart block MODI began with the success of crowdfunding from Kickstarter for its prototype in 2016, and

has grown 200-500% in revenue every year, exporting to 50 countries around the world; more than 1,000 educational

institutions are providing coding education through MODI. We are dedicating all of our resources to advancing into

various markets so that more people can experience the joy of making through MODI. We’d like to add that Luxrobo does
