Offered as an add-on to the ‘Imperial Rajasthan’ itinerary, guests visit a small village in the Aravalli Mountains where they accompany powerhouse women as they collect water, care for livestock, and cook for their families, try their hand at traditional crafts like tie-dying and block-printing, and participate in community projects like building a school, enabling a mobile health clinic, or agricultural training.

• On two ‘Majesty of the Canadian Rockies’ and ‘Trans-Canadian Grandeur’ journeys guests Meet Rob Boyd, a local Whistler skiing legend, and gold medal-winning Canadian Olympian over delicious glass or two of British Columbian wine.

• On two ‘Southern Grace’ and ‘Sumptuous Soul of America’ journeys guests will meet Charlie McCoy, a Country Music Hall of Fame musician. McCoy gives a talk about his life in which he tells stories about the legendary musicians he has known and played with, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Chet Atkins, Way-lon Jennings, and Loretta Lynn. He then joins guests as they record their own CD at Nashville’s legendary RCA Studio B.

Food and Wine: Recently awarded “Best Tour Operator for Foodies” in the TravelAge West WAVE awards, Insight and Luxury Gold’s immersive, hands-on food and wine experiences connect guests with the people and places that bring cultures to life. With unprecedented access to vineyards, bakeries, restaurants and farms, guests get to go behind-the-scenes and see how local products are harvested, processed and prepared on five continents. They also dine at critically acclaimed restaurants and enjoy special Highlight Dinners and Celebration Dinners where they enjoy delicious regional foods and wines in splendid settings. Some examples include:

• In Monte Subasio, Italy, guests on Insight’s ‘Country Roads of Umbria and Tuscany’ meet a third-generation olive oil maker and follow the evolution of the olive from tree to table;

• In Hué, Vietnam, guests on Luxury Gold’s ‘Spirit of Vietnam’ join a hands-on cooking class with a local chef, then ride in a bamboo basket-boat to Thanh Dong village to learn how villagers cultivate and harvest vegetables;

• In Paris, guests in Insight’s ‘Country Roads of France’ enjoy a Celebration Dinner at the historic restaurant, La Coupole, closing out their journey in perfect French fashion;

• In Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, guests on Luxury Gold’s ‘Classical Sri Lanka’ pick tea leaves on a plantation and sample some of the freshest tea possible;

• In the village of Saumur, France, guests on Insight’s ‘Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley’ discuss the grape varieties and local terroir with a local wine expert while sampling the wines of the Loire Valley;

• In Lima, Peru, guests on Luxury Gold’s ‘Treasures of the Incas’ sip café pasado or hot chocolate while getting the scoop on Peruvian coffee from an expert barista.

Giving Back/Sustainability: In partnership with TTC’s not-for-profit TreadRight Foundation, both Insight and Luxury Gold are leaders in sustainability. Here are some of the important wildlife, environmental and cultural heritage conservation projects supported by Insight Cares and Luxury Gold Cares – along with the itineraries guests can join which allow them to learn about these initiatives: • The TreadRight Heritage Initiative proudly supports The Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco in Peru,

which was founded by an indigenous Quechua weaver, Nilda Callanaupa Alvarez. By teaching local women how to make saleable items using traditional weaving techniques, Nilda has reinvigorated her community, with income being used for education, housing and medical care. Guests on Luxury Gold’s 12-day ‘Treasures of the Incas’ itinerary can meet with Nilda and purchase the center’s beautifully woven items as gifts for friends and family back home.

• Another TreadRight Heritage Initiative project is the Laboratorio Giuditta Brozzetti in Perugia, Italy, a workshop dedicated to the production of artistic textiles. The workshop teaches the Perugia-style of traditional weaving on antique wooden looms, ensuring that a centuries-old tradition is not lost, and allowing artisans to earn essential income. Several Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold trips (include Luxury Gold’s ‘Ultimate Italy,’ and Insight’s ‘Country Roads of Italy’) visit the Laboratorio, where guests can meet with Marta, see the weavers in action, and purchase gorgeous Renaissance-style woven items to support the women’s collective.

• Insight and LG (with TreadRight) have partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization focused on global reforestation. For every guest who opts out of printed travel documents, a tree will be planted in Vietnam (Luxury Gold) or northern California (Insight). Planting trees helps mitigate the impact of climate change by storing carbon, improve climate, reduce noise pollution, conserve threatened species, provide economic

stability for local people, and protect watershed areas. • We also launched a partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Big Cat Fund, a project whose

goal is to recover and stabilize populations of tigers, lions, cheetahs, snow leopards, jaguars, leopards, and clouded leopards in important strongholds across the world.

Ulla Hefel Böhler, Global CEO of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold With more than 20 years in the travel industry, Hefel Böhler began her career with TTC in 2005 as director of program services at Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection. Since then she has held various other positions with TTC, including director of operations at Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Brendan Vacations and Grand European Travel, and as TTC’s VP of Operations and Special Projects. She was named Global CEO of Insight and Luxury Gold in May 2017.

Jon Grutzner, USA President of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold Mr. Grutzner is a travel industry veteran with over two and a half decades of strategic sales experience in the guided vacations, hotel and cruise sectors. Before joining Insight and Luxury Gold in April 2018 he held the role of Director of Sales at Azamara Club Cruises for six years.
