ARTIST STATEMENT.
I believe a building is more than just its shell. More than what the occupant notices aesthetically. Don’t get me wrong, aesthetics play a major role in the grand scheme of building design. But, a building should evoke more than just an aesthetic pleasure. A building must give its occupants an experience unique to its funtion and purpose. A building must not simply be beautiful shell for protection and comfort but also a shell for unforgetable experiences cause by the architecture, whether realized by its occupants or not.

Erosion Erosion is the action of exogenic processes (such as water flow or wind) which remove soil and rock from one location on he Earth's crust, then transport it to another location where it is deposited.

DESIGN PROCESS
The Erode Towers serve as the business anchor of the entire site. Being the connection between business and leisure, the towers are occupied, programatically, by business, leisure and residential spaces. Though the towers are separate entities. They are connected, at level 4, by a conditioned concourse that is also occupied by kiosks and resting areas, both interior and exterior.
This project focused on individual design within a group master plan design. The master site was divided up into four smaller sites that were to be worked on individually. Though the focus of the project was to design one site as an individual there was a strong focus on the master plan of all four sites as one The task was to design while still taking into consideration the neighboring and the master site plan as a whole. The site alotted to me is the Western most site. When designing this site I took into consideration the fact that the site as a whole is situated between two harsh forces [the river and street edge]. These forces not only react with each other but are also acted upon by other forces. The obstruction of the river by the street edge and the force this has created dictates the form and function of The Erode Towers.

The Northern Tower would mainly be occupied by office spaces. Level 1 would serve as the reception and lobby level, also occupied by some professional commercial spaces. Levels 2 - 3 will be occupied solely by professional commercial space, probably connected to those on the ground level. Level 4, which is the concourse level will be occupied by a secondary reception and lobby space and some professional commercial offices. Levels 5 through 13 will be occupied by private commercial offices, ranging in square footage. Level 14, which is the rooftop level will be inaccessible to the public and will serve as the maintenance floor.
The Southern Tower will serve as a multi-functional tower, with most of its square-footage occupied by residential spaces. The first floor of the Southern Tower will be occupied by a luxury restaurant t, along with the lobby and some gallery space of the Museum of Art. These two programs will be separated by a centralized walkway and meeting space. Levels 2 and 3 will be occupied by The Museum of Art and mainly used as exhibition space. Levels 1 - 3 will also feature outdoor sculpture gardens in the balcony areas. Level 4, which is also the concourse level will be occupied by a fitness center for the residents, office space for the Realtors and a multi functional recreational space. Levels 5 - 19 will feature a range of apartment style living, apartments varying from studio style to 3 bedrooms. Finally, the rooftop level features a luxury bar and lounge.

Level 1
Structure and site analysis are related through the most common trait found on the site which is rhythm. Rhythm can be found within the oceanic aspects of the site. The movement and consistent rhythm of the waves created the rhythm of the structure and its organic form .The structure which follows the influence of the push and pull of the waves also organizes the spaces within to relate them to the rhythm of the recycling processes that will occupy the building.

THE GREEN SCAPE

The Green Scape focuses on healthier living through what one consumes, experiences, purchases and does for leisure.
When we merge Agriculture and Architecture we notice many similarities between the two. The most prominent feature they share is the constant need of daylighting. InAgriculture sunlight is needed for growth in plants. Whereas, in Architecture sunlight is needed to for a more energy efficient building.
The design of The Green Scape focuses on the use of daylighting to merge the two focusing on a less physical way than landscape to architecture. To do this the design incorporates daylighting through orientation of the buildings, photovoltaics along with landscape and architectural techniques to enhance the energy efficiency of the complex.

The Green Scape experience is meant to bring together people of all kinds in a attempt to create the experience of living a healthy, creative and enjoyable life.
It merges the city of Marion, North Carolina, with its residents by bringing the produces and consumer together as one. The countless agricultural workers of Marion will set up shop here seven days a week to offer the best produce, dining and experience to the people of Marion and visitors alike.

During summer months there is always an increase in the demand for cooling systems and the energy they require. Studies have shown that the surface of an exterior green wall is up to 10°C cooler than an exposed wall, therefore considerably less heat is radiated inward.

Revitalizing The Seine | THE LES DOCKS PROJECT

The Les Docks Project was a collaborative project between fourth year Architecture students and third year Architecture students, in which the third year students also collaborated with Fashion Marketing students.
The intent of the project was to revitalize the South bank of The Seine River, through conceptualization branching from the design and program of Les Docks by Jakob + Macfarlane. Each design team consist-ed of two to three architecture students who collaborated with two to three Fashion Marketing students. The project resulted in fifteen design proposals along The Seine. These proposals varried in program and design but always connected with its neighbor either physically, through building or landscape, or programatically and conceptually.
Together my Design team, Stephanie Lopez, Courtney Hooks and I, along with our Fashion Marketing Collaborators designed The Flux.

Through a series of bends, folds, and bulges designed parallel to the Seine, an architecture of continuity is achieved between the opposing set of forces (push and pull) brought about by the adjacent build-ings. An existing building on the site intersects with the bends and folds, thus internalizing the external forces. By absorbing the dominant forces that pinch the site, folding occurs at the entrance condition and circulation paths at the both the riverfront and the city edges.

The function of The Flux is to house a boutique, exhibition space and a roof terrace. The exhibition space would have pictures from Humans of New York that would change periodically. Also within the boutique, each new season the designer would change, to the newest up and coming American designer. On the roof terrace, there would be special events; such as a show for the new designer or for a reception.

TRANQUILITY PAVILION

The Tranquility Pavilion focuses on repose, clarity, tranquility, peace and rest. The site is located on the beach and due to its location the tranquility of the ocean natural influenced the openess of the design. The design went against the typical stereotype of a chapel being enclosed. Instead The Tranquility Pavilion was designed to be completely open to nature.

Furthermore, due to the fact that Tybee Beach is threatened by hurricanes the openesss of The Tranquility Pavilion can transform into a hurricane resistant space. This is achieved by the louver system that can turn into a shutter system is a hurricane threatens.
