The gmnite occu$i in the form of fine *t"rd and coarse grained varieties. eiranite has grev

The granite is known to be an excellent building stone. It can be used as a rubble for coused
and urcoursed masonary, rip-rip, pitching, etc. It is amenable to dressing and thus Khandkles
and headen of large size dimensions can be easily taken out. The rock is rsed in ttre

The whole lease area of 0.60 hectarcs is a piece of quarry lease area & presently used
for excavation of marble mineral. The land is hilly tendn & unddad with rocky
formation. There are no eees within ttre lease area. The lease area is zunounded by
the qtrarry leases of otlrer lessees. The present land use pattem is given on Chapter 2(a)
(vi) onpageNo.3.
(ri) Waterrcgime
Therc are no ruater bodies like ponds, lakes wittrin the area. Ther,e is one srnall
seasonal nala is passtng just boundary of the area. For the protection of the seasonal
nala the retaining wall is made on the band of nala so no any tpe of disturbance to the
seasonal nala in the course ef mining operation. Most of the nala is dry only nala is
flowing at the time of rair The retaining wall also made all around the mineral
stacking yard so no erosion or sedimentration take place. The urderground water table
rises upto 490mRL during the rainy season and goes down to 480mRL in the summer
season. Thus, the water table is situated at an average depth of 30m. below the

Qualif of Air
The Quality of air is very good, since there are only open cast mining activities are
there with Semi-mechanised. Mining operation will b€ done with wet proeess of wire

duing the srmmer season. Air is alnrost free from suspended particulate matters and
harmful gaseous. The water analysis report is enclosed as Anne>rure No. 3.
AmbientNoise l€vel
The ambientnoise level is observed to be about 75 to 100 dB(A) at the time of drilling

Quality of water: I
Therc ar€ one seasonal nala is passing through tlre area. But water is taken for drinking

Air Oualitv
The scale of mining being small and method being
air quality is likely to be affected minimally due to risi
running the tipper, si"ing and loading the mineral and tansporting
funes coming out of the tnrcks, there will be no appreciable impact on the air.
lVater Oualitv.
The mining operations will rcrnain confined much above the underground water table.
Therefore, the ground water will not b€ distufted as a rezult of mining. So ttre qualtty
of water will not be atrected in any way.
Noise leve!
Mining ope, rations will be canied out by **rral op€n cast method. The source of
noise will be gnly tbe drilling, blasting, running the wire saw or machineries and
plyng oftucks. It will have a very localised effest on the mine workers only.
Vibtation lev, els.
Since only shallow holes about 1.5m. depth will be blaste4 no much of vibration will
take place.
'Water regime.
Neither surface nor underground rryater wi[ be disturbed as a result of mining. The
mining will be done nearby tlre seasonal nala but all precaution will be taken so no

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN
The Environmental Management plan has been developed with a view to bring down
the levels of impacts within limits. In each of the areas of impact, measures have to be
taken to reduce potentially significant adverse impacts so that the overall adverse
impacts are reduced to as low level as possible. The mining in the area has been
proposed with time bound management plan so that impacts on different
environmental parameters are minimized at every stage of mining. Measures to be
taken for each of the impact areas are detailed in the following paragraph:
• Air Environment
• Water Environment
• Noise Environment
• Solid Waste Management
• Greenbelt development
AIR POLLUTION CONTROL MEASURES
• Green belt will be developed inside/outside the lease area equal to 33% of the
total lease area.
• Periodical water spraying on the haul roads will be done.
• PPE will be provided to the workers.
• To control the emissions, regular preventative maintenance of equipment will
be carried out.
WATER MANAGEMENT
• There is no surface water body in and around the mining lease area.
• The rain water collected in mining pit will be diverted in natural water
