Dear Parish Family:This weekend marks the annual autumnal equinox. It is the harvest time of year; and the Lord is asking us to render an account of our stewardship. We have each been entrusted with the care for a portion of God’s people. We all have unique talents. At times, we are likely to think that the burden is too heavy or the expectations too high. Students often feel overwhelmed at the beginning of a semester as they hear the teacher outline all the requirements for the course. The gospel for today seems to praise the crafty and selfish steward; but a more careful and prayerful reflection on this passage from Luke ought to yield a greater awareness of both our blessings and the responsibility we share to use them for the sake of our brothers and sisters. We welcome Father Bill Ryan today who is telling us of the good news of his ministry among the people of Togo!Sincerely yours in Christ,
Blessing of the AnimalsBlessing of the Animals will be Friday, October 4 at 4pm in the Rectory Garden as well as Sunday, October 6 at 2pm in the Rectory Garden.

Our New SeminarianPlease welcome our seminarian for the next two academic years, Jason Allan, from the Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas. The following are his words of introduction: “Growing up, I wanted to study at Texas A&M and enter the Navy after that. However, while in high school I began to discern the priesthood. I was involved in youth ministry and altar serving. This helped foster a desire to serve God and his people as a priest. I entered in 2012 and am now in my third year of theology at Theological College in DC, studying at the Catholic University of America. I will be ordained to the diaconate in March 2020, and to the priesthood in May 2021. Although I will be ordained a priest for the Diocese of Fort Worth, Bishop Olson has given me permission to serve as a Navy Chaplain after I am ordained. I look forward to the opportunity to serve here at Most Blessed Sacrament. I am excited about what I may learn and experience by serving here on Sundays and with the various ministries of the parish. Thank you for your welcome and I hope to get to know many of you.”
SAVE THE DATEThis is an event for everyone-bringing back old favorites, like the Sodality Super Re-Sale of used clothes, white elephants, toys, sporting goods, boutiques, yummy lunch and baked goods, fantastic raffle baskets, Christmas shoppe, and more! New this year, expanded space for used goods, including children’s books, citrus and plant sales, carolers, and if everybody has been nice instead of naughty, a special jolly old elf might appear! See you there!
