The project tracking database at www.methanetomarkets.org/ projects is the Partnership’s premier tool to promote projects and connect methane professionals. As an online plat- form, it helps initiate projects quickly and efficiently and offers all Project Network members an opportunity to suggest new projects and activities to support the Partnership. Also take advantage of these Web-based resources: International Landfill Database. This database identifies suit- able landfills for landfill gas-to-energy project evaluation. It stores landfill physical characteristics, gas collection system characteristics, waste characteristics, landfill operations, and additional information and can be searched by country, city, or landfill name. International Coal Mine Methane Projects Database. This data- base contains information on more than 200 coal mine meth- ane recovery and utilization projects operating, in develop- ment, or planned around the world. Coal Mine Methane Technology Database. This database pro- vides basic information on several technologies that are applicable to coal mine methane recovery and utilization and provides case studies on their use. Oil and Gas Nodal Analysis Tool. This tool displays interactive flow diagrams of the oil and gas industry and provides easy access to cost-effective technologies and practices that reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas industry. When you become a Project Network member, you will be able to:

• Get Involved. Attend subcommit­tee meetings, participate in work­shops and technology transfer events to exchange information, and identify project development and other business opportunities.

• Receive Recognition. Have your successful projects high­lighted on the Partnership’s Web site, in the newsletter, or in case studies.

• Identify Project Opportunities. Collect and share information on project opportunities and take advantage of the Partnership’s project databases.

• Make Contributions. Help identify and overcome barriers and improve conditions for project development by contributing to sector- and country-specific action plans.

• Make Connections. Interact with more than 700 peer institu­tions, individuals, and official representatives from over 26 coun­tries to foster cross-disciplinary and multinational collaborations.

• Highlight Your Best. Showcase your projects, technology, and expertise at the 2010 Partnership Expo and through many other high-profile international venues. At the Partnership Expo in Bei­jing in 2007, more than 90 project opportunities were showcased to more than 700 methane professionals from 34 countries.

• Stay Informed. Learn from timely updates, reports, and events regarding international methane development in the agriculture, coal mine, landfill, and oil and gas sectors. The Partnership main­tains a dynamic Web site and sector-specific listservs; publishes a quarterly newsletter, Methane International, as well as fact sheets and technical documents; and hosts and co-hosts many forums.

• Join Other Methane Leaders. Enhance your reputation by joining the premier international methane reduction partner­ship that is making real greenhouse gas emission reductions by creating clean development and energy opportunities.

The Project Network is at the foundation of the Methane to Markets Partnership. It is a professional community of fi nance, development, and policy experts and institutions whose common goal is to pro­mote methane recovery and use projects around the world.

As a Project Network member, you are a full and valued participant and can have an active role in shaping the work of the Partnership. At the sector-specific subcommittee meetings, you have access to and an opportunity to work closely with government representa­tives. Through these meetings, you can assist in the development and implementation of sector and country-specific action plans and strategize how best to remove regulatory, financial, and tech­nical barriers to project development. Your participation will also help create dynamic business opportunities for methane recovery projects and position you to take advantage of them.

Free, Voluntary, and Open to All

The Project Network is free, voluntary, and open to all organizations with inter­est and expertise in methane recovery and use project development. Today’s members include more than 750 orga­nizations from the technical, fi nancial, and policy fields. They are both large and small organizations based in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. Active members include:

• Project technology providers, such as Caterpillar Inc., General Electric-Jenbacher, Megtec Systems, and Enl S.p.A.

• Project development and financing, such as AES Corporation, Ameresco, Australian Climate Exchange, EcoSecurities, Fortis, Marubeni Corporation, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

• Development banks, including the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.

• Research institutions, such as Argonne National Laboratory, Central Mining Institute, and Instituto de Tecnologia Agropec­uaria (INTA).

Non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations, such • as Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) New Delhi, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and International Energy Agency.
