Maximum Height - measured to Total System Height for freestanding turbines:– 65 feet for lots greater than 1 but less than 3
acres in size.
– 80 feet for lots 3-7 acres in size.
– 100 feet for lots greater than 7 acres in size.
Building mounted turbines limited to 10 feet above the attachment point to the building.

horizontal axis; 10 feet from ground for vertical axis.

– Automatic braking during high winds to
prevent system failure.
– Manual shut off clearly marked and
accessible as determined by designated
official (fire marshal, chief building official).

must meet applicable building codes.
Abandonment – deemed abandoned after 6
months of non-operation and must be removed
by owner within 6 months of notice.
– Jurisdiction Right of Entrance to remove as a
condition of approval.
Wind Access – no guarantee of adequate wind
by local jurisdiction.

Adjustment.
– Ensures public notice and hearing.
– Conditional use if desire to allow only in
certain districts (like cell towers)
– Special Permit if desire to allow in all
districts.
