In 1987 Cliff Zeamer, Stan’s brother, joined the company to manage the Used Trailer Department. December 1993 marked the second-generation commitment to the trailer industry when Stan Zeamer’s oldest son, Bill, joined the sales team. In 1996, son Bryan joined UKTS as a management trainee after graduating from Elizabethtown College with a Business Management degree. In the year 2000, UKTS moved to its present location on 42 acres west of Lancaster along Route 283. Also in the year 2000, Stan Zeamer was named First Trailer Dealer of the Year by the National Trailer Dealers Association.

Our Annual MAC University Dealer Training was once again a success thanks to many of our Staff, Vendors, Sales and Dealers. From June 15-18 we had many of our new Dealers and our staff attend a product training held in the beautiful new training facility located behind the parts department. Each day those attending started their day with presentations from Hendrickson Suspension, Custom Hoists, Aero Tarps, Keith Walking Floor, Sapa, Jost, American Made Liner, B.T.I., Meritor, Michelin, Grote and Alcoa Wheel. They learned the importance of why MAC Trailer uses these companies and the features and benefits that they offer. Following the vendor presentations students and staff had the opportunity to attend the #1 ranked trailer training course in the country for the Dump, Transfer, Flatbed and Dry Bulk Pneumatic Tank Trailer lines. The classes are taught by our very own “Knowledgeable Professors” who know the ins and outs of each trailer and why MAC stands out above the rest. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication all the trainings were successful and our students left the MAC Trailer Campus ready to sell. After a short period of time, MAC Trailer will then purchase the building, according to President and CEO Mike Conny.According to Conny, MAC Trailer will move production of its aluminum refuse trailer line to the facility, creating a waste division plant. The company will continue to manufacture dump trailers at its original plant on Commerce Street, where its corporate headquarters are housed.“This all came about relatively fast,” said Conny. “Although we’ve been planning expansions for the past couple years, the deal to move into this building was turned around in about 90 days. We’re excited about having this first-class facility right here in Alliance. The Tolerton family worked hard to get us in here because they wanted to bring jobs back to the area. We also had much support from the city of Alliance.”Expansion is one thing that is needed for MAC Trailer, the largest manufacturer of custom trailers in North America, according to company officials, noting their goals are to boost production and maintain safety standards.“Our existing facility in Alliance has become cramped with 450 to 500 employees at the plant,” stated Conny. “It is difficult to manage and get parts to our employees in order to get their job done in a reasonable amount of time.”Conny stated that he hopes by next year work to retrofit the warehouse at the Terry’s Tire Town facility with five assembly lines will be complete. Eventually, MAC Trailer hopes to employ approximately 250 at the facility, producing an average of six trailers a day.“We are bursting at the seams at our current facility,” said Corporate Vice President Dennis Postiy. “We have a serious demand for our product, but currently we are behind on orders. We are working hard to get to that production level to meet the needs of our dealers because they are crying for our product. We realize it’s a good problem to have, but it’s still a big problem. Plus, we want to do it efficiently and most of all safely for our employees.”To facilitate the expansion, MAC Trailer has been seeking to increase its workforce in all positions. The company held a job fair in May with more than 270 people submitting applications and resumes. According to Gary Conny, human resources director and assistant to the vice president, the company is still interviewing potential employees from that event.“This will only work if we can find the right employees,” said Mike Conny. “To me, the transportation business is a great opportunity for any young person who wants a good job.”

On January 1st, 2015, MAC Trailer Aftermarket Parts Inc. became the newest department of MAC Trailer Mfg. Tony Sparks, General Manager of MAC Trailer Aftermarket Parts Inc. led the way in not only making this a possibility, but an overall success. Several long hours, weekends, and dedicated employees were responsible for making the transition as smooth as possible. Also vital to the success of the new company was the hiring of an additional purchaser, a receiver, and our own accounts receivable and accounts payable personnel. Along with new personnel, we have also updated our equipment to aid in making us as prosperous as possible.
