Macadamias Australia is a division of Steinhardt Corporation, a third generation family owned and operated agribusiness established in 1957. Farmfresh Fine Foods, another division of the Group, is an established supplier of processed vegetable products to the Industrial and Foodservice sector. Macadamias Australia has 128,000 trees on 1100 acres of land, located in Bundaberg, on the beautiful south-east coast of Australia. Macadamias Australia aims to be specialists in growing, processing and marketing macadamia nuts to the Australian and International Industrial, Foodservice and Retail Markets. Perfect climate, enriched soil, plentiful water and the clean environment in Bundaberg are ideal conditions for the reliable production of quality macadamias. Specialized equipment such as GPS guided tractors, state of the art irrigation systems and world’s best practice management have been utilized in establishing and operating the plantation. When the trees reach full maturity, Macadamias Australia will produce in excess of 900 tonnes of kernel. The company has the processing capacity, and will also have access to additional supplies of macadamia nuts from contract growers in the Bundaberg region, which, it is predicted, will be the largest macadamia growing region in the world by 2015. Macadamias Australia is one of the largest single variety plantations in Australia.
