Project Survival: Project Governance

Improve your odds of achieving project success with project governance (14 hours)

Research shows that approximately two-thirds of projects fail to meet their triple constraint requirements of delivering their intended scope on time and within budget.

A solution for this has been found in project governance, which provides project managers and leaders with an overarching deci-sion-making framework to evaluate, direct and monitor the align-ment between project deliverables and the organizational value expected from those deliverables. Learn to use this framework to resolve common project challenges like managing changing requirements and misunderstandings.

You will learn how to:

• integrate various management methodologies into a co-ordinated, holistic approach to establish project priorities and agility

• clarify who should be responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed.

• ensure key considerations like project resourcing and risks are being evaluated from an organizational perspective

• acquire new techniques and processes for managing changing organizational needs, conditions and options in an increasingly complex project world

He was also a founder of Com-Do Corp, which launched a multi-media training product that won the AMPIA, Golden Sheaf, and International Film Festival awards. Ron is also a popular university instructor, teaching a variety of business and project management courses.

Frustrated by the findings of the Standish Group’s Chaos Reports regarding poor project performance and how project failures have cost organizations and taxpayers millions of dollars, Ron embarked on a PhD in Organization and Management with a specialization in Project Management to see if he could help solve this problem. Through his PhD research, he was able to validate how strategy and project management can be aligned in a governance framework to nearly double the probability of project success. Ron is eager to share with others how they and their organizations can quickly benefit from applying this ground-breaking knowledge.
