The world was a playground for Mickey, a naive Irish American kid bored with his life. His father served in World War II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam; now it was his turn. His 365 days in Vietnam builds in torment until an attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia. Wounded, his friend captured, he

becomes a tormented survivor knowing he is always just a heartbeat from death.

In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier

embarks on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.

LAWN MOWING With careful consideration Fr. Greg decided to use the Tricky Tray money raised to help our parish save money. With the Tricky Tray money we bought a ride-on mower, weed wacker, hand held blower, and a push mower. Fr. Greg will now mow the lawn for us. The total cost for all the equipment was $7,052.00. This equipment will pay for itself in a little less than 2 years. And wow does the lawn look great, actually better than when we hired someone!

ALTAR SERVERS Calling all children, 3rd grade and older who have received their First Holy Communion, we need help in the Altar Server department. If you would like to help the priests at the altar during Mass please contact Raegan Davies at [email protected] or call the church during office hours (Mon-Fri, 9:30am – 3pm), 908-637-4269. A training session will be set up for anyone interested.

Religious Ed News... Registration emails went out this past week. If you are in our program, and did not receive an email, please contact us immediately, 908-637-4269. CHURCH ROOF--UPDATE The "Roof" committee met on Monday, July 13th at 6pm to go over the 3 proposals for our church roof. Our first proposal came from J. The third proposal came from RAYMONDJOHN Multiple Applicators of Hackettstown, $59,827.00. We are now sending all three bids to the Diocese for approval with the recommendation of accepting the proposal of J. Kasharian Services, LLC of Hackettstown. The Kasharian (Kash) family are life-time members of our parish and along with other parishioners, and some of our parishioners who are roofers, J. Kasharian comes highly recommended. The cost of this proposal covers all labor and material and disposal. They will install GAF Timberline Ultra 50 year asphalt shingles with a 5 year workmanship warranty. This company has completed work in our area and also for Donald Trump's organization. Watch the bulletin for updates as they occur.
