Machine guard lift gates and lift panelsowing to the large variety of applications, Hans Georg Brühl GmbH has developed a wide range of machine guard lift gates. Depending on the specific construction type, widths of up to 16 m and heights of up to 7 m can be produced. Safety is always the top priority. Standard safety features for the machine guard lift gates include an electro-mechanical system for monitoring load-bearing components, a safety edge mounted to the closing edge and multiple, independent load-bearing components as an anti-drop safeguard (in accordance with DiN EN 12604, Annex B). These products also come with complete documentation.

The high-speed lift gate is equipped with a drive unit with a position sensor. Safety features include a safety edge mounted to the closing edge and a light barrier/grid for triggering reverse function. This lift gate is often used in removal and pick-and-place stations (e.g. laser and welding cells with welding arcs/smoke emission) and it is equipped with an electric position sensor.

Machine guard rolling doorsMachine guard rolling doors are guards that open vertically. These power-operated doors are opened and closed by a motor drive, which winds and unwinds the plastic curtain or rolling door slats around a barrel. They are operated by a rolling door drive with built-in safety brake and electronic position monitoring. Machine guard rolling doors are available with various curtain materials, e.g. with the special longitudinally stiffened curtains Brühl-TEX-LS as well as with profiled steel or aluminium slats. The design of the individual curtain sections and the dimensions can always be customized to your application. in comparison with machine guard lift gates, the machine guard rolling doors have more compact dimensions and a smaller installation height. Safety devices such as safety edges for triggering reverse function and light barriers/grids that prevent hands from being trapped in the door help to make these rolling doors extremely safe.

options for integration in the machine-control system/PLCThere are delivery limits for all power-operated machine guard doors and gates by Brühl to make sure that the customer’s system and plant control can process the signal “securely closed”. The selection of the appropriate delivery limit depends on the capability of your system and plant control to process signals, i.e. on whether our customers use semiconductor outputs or potential-free contacts. Today virtually all new machine and plant controls (fail-safe PLC) can read and process semiconductor osutput signals from Brühl machine guard doors and gates. For integrating the signal “securely closed” no further evaluation unit is required, as your control system can process the signal. Usually older system and plant controls can only process potential-free contacts. in this case an evaluation unit is available in addition to the safety switch (signal “securely closed”) so that the customer can install it in the control cabinet.

Brühl Gate Controller
The Brühl Gate Controller ii is a microprocessor-based control system designed in accordance with the high standards of EN 61508. The main control features are the universal configuration, the modularity and the program structure, which allow for customised functionality. The controller offers extensive functions, which are easy to program through the segment display in connection with a rotary switch. The user interface is always the same, which guarantees the simplest commissioning and programming. The frequency converter offers the following functions: Soft start, soft stop, separately adjustable start speed, separately adjustable stop speed, adjustable creep speed for installation and operation. The standard control systems are equipped with two additional output relays, which can be freely configured with a wide range of available functions. This makes it easy, for example, to integrate position control. Both conventional and inductive limit switches can be connected to the control system.
