ENJOY YOUR EASTER HOLIDAYS AT MACROBERT EASTER WORKSHOPS @MACROBERT DAFT - A Multi-Arts Easter Workshop Politics - Ever thought what itʼs got to do with you? Ever wondered what politicians do all the time? Or perhaps you are really into it and you always prioritise Question Time or Newsnight over First Look, Twilight or Skins? Either way, weʼve got the perfect project for you. On 5 May Scotland votes to elect the members of the next Scottish Parliament. These MSPs are responsible for the budgets that fund schools and that invest in the arts, and so we thought macrobert should do something to mark this day. Weʼve decided, perhaps rather crazily, to attempt to keep macrobert open for the 24h marathon during which all the voting and results will happen and to try and fill it full of culture that relates to the theme of politics. We want to make an artistic response to these important events and certainly not one that is dull! The programme will be full of punchy engaging performances celebrating young voices in Scotland, and the things that young people want to say through the arts. So in the spirit of this we have created DAFT. DAFT is an exciting week-long multi-arts project involving Dance, Art, Film and Theatre, led by macrobert's experienced artists in residence. Specialising in one of these art forms, you will create a multi-art performance that will be presented at the end of the week and again as part of our elections day event on 5 May. For 12 – 18 year olds: Dance/Film/Theatre Full Week Intensive Workshop £75 (20 spaces for dance, 6 spaces for film, 20 spaces for theatre available) 4 - 8 Apr, 10.00am – 4.00pm (Please note: additional rehearsals may be required in the run up and you will be required to perform during the day on Thur 5 May) For 6 weeks – 12 year olds: Art Sessions at the treehouse to create exciting artwork for the performances £5.50 per hour/£20 for 4 hours (limited spaces available) 4 – 8 Apr, 9.15am – 1.15pm (bookable by the hour) FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE VISIT www.macrobert.org or call 01786 466666

BOOK NOW FOR OUR GREAT SUMMER HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS

Little Shop of Horrors - A Musical Theatre Summer Project with Johnny McKnight

Work with one of the most successful creative teams for pantomime in Scotland and other youngpeople to stage a fantastic and punchy piece of musical theatre.

A down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers anexotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon Audrey II grows into an ill-tempered,foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding itsgrowing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination. Oneof the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fimovies has become a house-hold name in musicals, not at least thanks to a highly successfulfilm version!

You will be working with the professional team of director Johnny McKnight, musical director AlanPenman and choreographer Karen Martin, who stage our fantastic pantomime each year. Like theYoung Cast in that show you will benefit from their talent and expertise throughout the rehearsalprocess and then be able to perform on the macrobert mainhouse stage for three performances.
