Monday.

The agency informs Maddison of the contractors’ hours and pay rate, relating to work completed the previous week.

Once received Maddison process the information and invoice the agency.

The contractors complete and submit their expense forms, detailing all expenses they have incurred in the performance of their duties. The deadline for expense submissions is 5pm Tuesday.

Maddison check, validate and finalise pay for each contractor.

The payroll is run. As soon as payroll is complete, contractors receive an SMS confirmation of their net pay and their payslip is emailed to them.

Maddison receives funds from the agency, paying for the invoices issued earlier in the week. Our Customer Support Team is on hand to provide advice and resolve any pay queries.

Contractors receive funds into their nominated bank account.

PayrollProcess...As soon as our partnership is agreed, Maddison will work with you to manage the payroll process. Your Account Manager will visit your office to guide you through the process and issue registration packs. At this point the Account Manager is on hand to provide advice and guidance to all parties involved.

As soon as all registration packs have been completed, the Account Manager collects and delivers them to our Customer Support Team who create profiles for each contractor and check details for taxation compliance.

Processing your contractors pay. We work to strict deadlines to ensure total accuracy and efficiency of process.

We have several bi-lingual payroll professionals working in our team to assist our clients who have a high-proportion of contractors from EU member states. This ensures that our communication is fluid and understood by all parties. The decision to support our clients by matching their needs has streamlined communication, contributing to our payroll accuracy, and enhancing our client and contractor relationships.

We’re responsible for payroll and all statutory deductions. Removing the need to administer these obligations, enables you to invest more time doing what you do best - winning new business and retaining existing clients.

Every contractor who registers with us is set-up on our database the same day. If the contractor has not supplied information required for legal compliance their pay cannot be processed. This method ensures that all parties are protected.

Our contractor fees range from £0.01p to £23.00, per week. We phase all our fees in line with the worker’s income and to reflect the savings created. We introduced this measure to ensure that your contractors are charged fairly for their hard work.

For our Umbrella, CIS and Solo products, there’s no cost to you as an agency. We take a fee, from each contractor’s payment received from the agency.

We’re independently audited and ensure that Managed Service Legislation (MSC) is never an issue.

All of our payment products are AWR compliant.

We provide a £5m insurance package to mitigate the statutory risk to you and your clients.

We’ve invested heavily in our IT infrastructure and as a result our input / output performance achieves a 99% rate of accuracy.

We operate stringent ID verification processes to minimise fraud.

Employment and taxation legislation is ever-changing and impacts on how a business operates. We maintain and enhance our position by working closely with HMRC to ensure that our service is fully compliant.

Monthly service reports

Contractors are surveyed regularly and invited to provide feedback

Fees.Maddison has always believed that the benefits created by using our products should be shared amongst the parties involved.

Our worker fee scales and charges have been structured to ensure that the worker is an important beneficiary of savings.

To ensure this our fees are:

Graduated in line with the workers contract income

Are inclusive of employment risk insurances (ELI / PLI)

Are capped

We never charge when a worker takes a holiday (subject to that weeks payment being purely holiday pay)

For PAYE based products our fees are graduated in line with tax bandings – we acknowledge that if the workers income is below the tax threshold there is no benefit to them for using our service – so our fee is £0.01p

Umbrella.The default industry offering - Umbrella is our longest running product. It is very similar in structure to PAYE and is an excellent payment route for contractors who want some of the benefits a Limited Company route can offer but without the admin or statutory responsibilities.

CIS.(Construction Industry Scheme)

CIS is the only payment option available to Self-employed construction industry workers. The requirements imposed on contractors to be registered with the HMRC and hold a UTR (unique tax reference) has created a system which is secure.

Solo.Solo is for self-employed contractors who do not work in the construction industry. The process is exactly the same as CIS whereby the contractor has to provide a UTR.
