The moments that have the greatest impact on our lives often don’t seem that important

at the time. Just ask Dennis Levy, who in 1973, decided to accept a set of leather-working

tools instead of cash as payment for an odd job.

To his surprise, Dennis developed a love of leather-working. Inspired by the musical passion

of his brother, lifelong guitarist Harvey Levy, he began creating guitar straps as his brother

took to the road to build a network of vendors. Within a few years, Dennis and his wife

Cheryl had invested their life savings and formed Levy’s Leathers Ltd. And so a seemingly

small decision led to bigger ones, sparking an enduring legacy.

Of course, it takes more than a few opportune moments to create one of the world’s

most respected names in quality guitar straps and accessories. It takes a steadfast

dedication to craftsmanship, an earnest desire to empower all types of musicians,

and a belief in helping others embrace their craft in their own way. All coming together to

create a truly exceptional product that today, is trusted and loved by everyone from garage

musicians to world famous artists.

MATERIAL DESCRIPTION

Using the oldest known tanning method, veg-tan is the highest-quality leather available. We use an eco-friendly process of tanning leather hides that utilizes organic materials, such as tree bark, to create a rich, natural color palette. Over time and with each use, veg-tan leather becomes more flexible as it conforms to your body.

Veg-Tan Leather

Top-grain leather, also known as chrome-tan, is known for its sturdiness and quality at an affordable price. It uses an efficient tanning process that allows the leather to be dyed in a range of colors.

Top-Grain Leather

Garment leather is a chrome-tan leather that has been treated with softeners to make it pliable and supple. Stemming from the garment industry, this leather has rich pigments and is used to create our softest and most flexible products. Straps with garment leather backing allows freedom of movement since it ‘slides’ without pulling on your clothes.

Garment Leather

Suede is a leather finish that offers a characteristic soft nap. The tanning process produces a fuzzy look that adds texture and character to the strap. When suede is used on the back of a strap, the nap will ‘stick’ to your clothes and help keep your instrument in place. Musicians choose a suede-backed strap to keep their guitar in place.

MATERIAL DESCRIPTION

Cotton WebbingOur cotton webbing is an ideal choice when you're looking for a heavier material that's sturdy and versatile. This 100% cotton webbing provides strength to support all weights of musical instruments.

Textured Cotton WebbingOffered in our MT8 series, this webbing is a unique alternative to our standard cotton. Black cotton fibers are woven into the webbing for a textured look and upgrade from traditional cotton straps.

Polyester WebbingPolyester webbing is easy-to-clean, repels water, and is mildew-resistant. We offer two weights of polyester straps - basic and heavy weight.

PaddingThe standard padding in our MSS series allows straps to retain their shape after years of wear. The padding provides relief from continuous pressure from the weight of an instrument.

JacquardJacquard fabric features a raised pattern that is woven into the fabric. Multiple thread colors are used to create intricate and detailed patterns.

Sublimation

Sublimation is a printing process where ink is applied to a material and treated with heat to fuse with fabric upon application. Our sublimation straps are applied to polyester webbing and allow for ease of movement with the instrument.

EmbroideryEmbroidery is the application of thread to the top of the fabric for decoration. We use state-of-the-art embroidery machines to create dense and accurate patterns.
