Made in Water is Cecilia Luci’s second solo public exhibition after the one she held at thePalazzo Collicola Arti Visive Spoleto, curated by Gianluca Marziani in 2012.

An artist intent on uniting her personal visual imagery with a skillful use of the camera, after abandoning the theme of the human figure, Cecilia Luci has undertaken an

investigation aimed at reconstructing interior landscapes by placing a combination ofeveryday objects in transparent liquids such as water. The abstract geometries, or unexpected metamorphoses that occur during thesecombinations give light to alienating photos which create a sort of formal psychologicalfilter of the very transparency that repairs memories and recollections, depersonalizingthem with strong aesthetic leanings.

The studies carried out by Cecilia between 2001 and 2005, first with AlejandroJodorowski, Bert Helliinger and finally with Laura Quinti and Stefano Silvestri, link hericonography to the theme of familiar constellations and psychomagic as alternative formsof viewing reality, but at the same time, ready to go through it with different metamorphicsolutions. The 25 works presented in this exhibition come from the artist’s recent researchon the fragile thread of memory, on the destiny designed for those who are able to read it,on rupture as possibility of reconstruction, on time as filter of memory and recollection.

The exhibition has been curated by critics Marco Tonelli and Fabiola Naldi.

.Bilingual catalogue edited by De Luca Editori d’Arte, with introductory texts by thecurators.
