MADOFF HELP NEWS & ASSISTANCE www.madoff-help.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: DJ Mionis February 18, 2009 Ron Stein (631) 423-6501 Planner & Investment Advisor Creates News and Blog Website for Madoff Victims, Legal and Accounting Professionals In an effort to bring together legal and accounting professionals with Madoff victims, an investment advisor and planner has unveiled Madoff Help News & Assistance, an online news and blog site that seeks to bring the latest Madoff news, information and resources to the Madoff-impacted community. The blog site features areas targeting different interests in the Madoff fraud universe. Besides sharing interesting insights on the Madoff situation and an array of information, it provides the latest news for Madoff watchers. In addition, the “Madoff Wall -- Q&A Forum” is an area where individuals and legal and accounting professionals can share issues, questions and answers. There’s also a wealth of other helpful information, including links to support for Madoff victims and an opportunity for victims to share their own thoughts and stories. “This is a terrible time for Madoff victims,” according to Ron Stein, a financial planner and the brain behind the site. “Many victims are going through a period of intense grief, anxiety, and anger. To make things worse, the whole Madoff picture, from SIPC to the IRS is so murky and frightening that many folks feel lost and totally confused. They’re scared, but they’re reluctant to trust anyone. This site gives them not only a place of support, but a place to get the latest in resources and questions answered.” Legal and tax experts will not only have an opportunity to lend their help but demonstrate their expertise and profile their firms to a community of Madoff sufferers. The site will also allow legal and accounting professionals to exchange information and ideas with fellow professional practitioners. While the news and blog component of the site has been in operation since late January, the new site is now fully functional and ready for broad community participation. Ron Stein, president of Good Harvest Financial Group, created the site because he was appalled by the losses and rampant confusion he observed among friends and extended family, along with his personal outrage about lax regulatory oversight and timid response. Stein’s hope: “to create an active community of participants and an advocacy center to help those in need and improve regulatory responsiveness.” Asked why he’s doing this, Stein responds “Its important for professionals to give back, to help, while victims need to share their experiences in a supported environment. Investors and the financial world have taken a terrible hit these past few years. There are a lot of wrongs to right, and this is a good place to start.” For more information, please contact DJ Mionis or Ron Stein at www.Madoff-Help.com and Good Harvest Financial Group, at 631 423-6501, or [email protected] . ###

About Ron Stein, CFP – Creator of madoff-help.com

Having entered the financial profession in the mid-eighties, Ron incorporated Good Harvest Financial Group in 1992, with the goal of creating a financial planning and investment management firm that would be a departure from the commission-based stock brokerage and sales-based businesses that dominate the financial field, and based on the principals of sound financial planning and a highly personalized approach. Beginning as early as 1987, Ron also pioneered on Long Island the incorporation of investors’ values and social concerns in their portfolios.

Ron became a Certified Financial Planner in 1989, and throughout the early and middle ‘90s, Ron was a frequent lecturer and workshop leader on Personal Finance, Social and Environmentally Responsible Investing and various environmental topics, a panelist at numerous events, and speaker at several Long Island and New York radio and television events. Since 1987, Ron has been a member of the Social Investment Forum, the trade association of professionals engaged in the practice of social and environmentally responsible investment.

Ron also brings extensive knowledge about insurance related issues (Ron remains licensed in both life, accident, and property and casualty), has often been at odds with insurance company sales approaches over the years, and brings a high level of objective knowledge and awareness of this subject.

In the late ‘90’s, in response to environmental and land use concerns concerning development in the NY Metropolitan region, Ron helped launch the “Smart Growth” movement on Long Island, and founded a not-for-profit organization called -- Vision Long Island -- which has helped numerous communities across Long Island plan and manage their development.

In 2008, in light of the tremendous market turmoil, Ron unveiled a low-risk portfolio methodology called Safety-Vest, for the benefit of risk-averse investors who, until now, have had to rely on themselves to research banks and other highly conservative vehicles.

In January, 2009, shortly after the exposure of the Madoff fraud, and having witnessed first hand the Madoff impact on extended family and friends, Ron launched Madoff-Help.Com -- a website to help Madoff victims. The site has become a central source of information, resources, advocacy, and support, for hundreds of Madoff victims, legal and accounting professionals, and news media. From the site:

“People are confused, angry, ashamed, frustrated… and they need help. So I created this site to do just that, to give back. I bring not only my perspective as an independent investment adviser but someone who has personal connections to people who have suffered deeply. My goal is to bring the Madoff victim and professional practitioner communities together.

“So I’m hoping Madoff-Help provides an ongoing sense of support and resources for those who have suffered, a source of information for sufferers and professionals alike, and an up-to-date supply of the latest Madoff-related news for all.” -- Ron Stein
