    Dear Parishioners,

    Parish Census

2016 will be a memorable year for Ireland. It is a year of taking stock; this will

be especially true of April 24th when we all have to complete a National Census

Form. In light of this I have decided (after consultation with the Select Vestry) to

conduct our own Parish Census. A copy is enclosed and I would encourage you

to take the time to consult this.

    Holy Week and Easter

I am delighted to say that the neighbouring parishes will once again link up for

services in Holy Week. This year we are having a slightly different format to our

services with guest speakers on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Full details may be found on page 16.

    Easter General Vestry

The Easter General Vestry is the A.G.M. of the parish when we elect Churchwardens, Glebewardens (Property stewards) and a Select Vestry (the Governing Board). It is an important event in the life of the parish and you are warmly welcomed to be there. More information may be found on page 4.

As we approach Easter, I hope and pray the joy of that day may deeply move our

hearts and souls and fashion our lives and homes.

    With every good wish,

    Some People are Like Potatoes...

Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are just content to watch while

others do the work. They are called "Speck Tators."

Some people never do anything to help, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do

the work. They are called "Comment Tators."

Some people are always looking to cause problems by asking others to agree with them. It

is too hot or too cold, too sour or too sweet. They are called "Agie Tators."

Some people can pretend to be someone they are not. They are called "Emma Tators."

Then there are those who love and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to

stop whatever they are doing and lend a helping hand. They bring real sun-shine into the

lives of others. They are called "Sweet Tators." (Author unknown)

    Pack your Bags to California

Holiday time, YES!! Florida here I come. Bags packed, passport and boarding card

in bag, I was on my way. I arrived in Orlando, Florida to blue skies and hot

temperatures. I was staying in Sarasota which is south of Tampa on Floridas Gulf Coast. My days were packed with amazing activities, first a boat ride along the

    waterways where we saw

    pods of dolphins swimming

    calmly near us and pelicans

diving into the water to catch

    fish. The beaches had pristine

    white sandy shores where the

sand stays cool even in hot

    temperatures, so perfect for

    sunbathing. The sea was

    warm, with plenty of fish

swimming around our feet and Pelicans diving and swimming beside us. The

sunsets over the sea were amazing. The Myakka River is a must to visit, I took

the air-boat tour of the lake, and saw alligators near the shore and some sunning

    themselves on

    land. There were

    many migratory

    birds, great blue

    herons, white

    egrets, ibis, wood

    c r a n e s , a n d

    ospreys. After a

trip was organised through the wooded park along the nature trails. There was

so much more to donext time. Veronica Glansford,

    Food Corner

Food and Nutrition is a subject of the moment. With healthy eating a hot topic,

cut down on sugar , eat the correct fats , dont overeat , take plenty of exercise and so it goes on and on! My view is eat a well-balanced diet and ENJOY.

I have always loved cooking , I find it most relaxing especially when sharing a

home cooked meal and a glass of wine with

    family and friends.

David and I love travelling and we are always

inspired with the food in the different countries.

We were in Portugal earlier this year staying in

a non-touristy fishing town where the famous

market was filled with all sorts of fresh fish and

vegetables every day . We were inspired by the

Fish Mongers who advised and prepared the

magnificent selection of fish, which included

Squid, Sea bass, Prawns, Snapper, Sole, Sea

bream, fresh Tuna and many more varieties

that we do not see here in Ireland, hard to

choose but all glistening at us waiting to be

bought . Here is a recipe for a light lunch using

    any of these fish.

A portion of fish for 2, we particularly liked snapper (pictured above), prepared

and cut into long thin slices, olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh herbs.

Heat the oil and fry the fish lightly 2 minutes each side, add the garlic then the

herbs, plate up immediately. Using the juices add 2 chopped fresh tomatoes,

chopped fresh brazil nuts, fresh herbs, stir and serve with the fish, delicious.
