The visuals are consistent as the blue curtain is also the album artwork.

The band name is in the largest font, which makes it stand out and advertise the band

The majority of this advert is taken up by four star reviews from respectable music magazines and newspapers.

The simplistic nature of the layout doesn’t give much away about the album which adds a layer of intrigue.

The photo effect and the way the blue fades to green gives the image a vintage camera effect, reflecting the indie genre and style of the band and their music.

At the foot of the advert there is a website address and record company logos and information. This is useful to the viewer as they may know what to expect from the band if they are familiar with the record label.

The fact that there is little substance to this advert could suggest that the band are already established in the music industry due to previous single releases and therefore the name and album image is enough to attract an audience as they have used other methods to promote their music.

The still is taken from he bands music video for “Bittersweet Symphonies”. The main focus of the image is this still.

The album information is essential to the advert, yet it is small and not the main focus of this advert.

Conventional layout with the band’s name at the top and the album artwork underneath.

Using respectable and established music magazines to advertise the success of the album, its as if the name of these publications is enough. They are aware music fans will spot these names and go and listen to the band as Mojo have named them “Band of the year”

The image is similar to a Bruegel painting, and shows a village during medieval times. This reflects the folk sound of the band and the genre.

Reference here to a digital download from ITunes, this makes the album easily accessible.

The “Belle Union” record label is shown on the advert, again, a reference to music fans who are aware of the music associated with the indie/folk label. This alone is a representation of the artist.

The font reflects the folk genre as it has a vintage/authentic style, which is the style the band are trying to create.

Reference to the digital download on Play.com, showing that the album is easily accessible. Trying to advertise the record label as

well as the band as they have put the website and not jus the logo.

The logo/font is similar to an old typewriter, which reflects the age of the band/their music, it adds a rustic style. The background is a faded black which shows the grungy/edgy side to the band.

The images are creative and artistic, and very detailed which shows that a lot of thought has gone into the production of these images to relate the songs. It also shows the bands personality, that they aren't afraid to stand out and do something different.

A lot of information about extra features of the album and downloads and they also refer to the grunge era defining band Nirvana, and that Pearl Jam remain, showing that they were part of the 90’s grunge era.
