Magazine Analysis My Inspiration.

TimeOut- Festivals.

• I chose this as it is a festival magazine and my magazines main feature is strawberry fair.

• I like this layout as it is simple yet hold enough info for the reader to want to read on.

• I think the use of colour is importantas a festival is ment to be bright andfull of life and music, this is a goodexample of this and will help me decidewhat type of picture and colourscheme I will use for my own mag’.

Beloit

• Beloit is an American college magazine, I think this appeals to students as it simple and easy to read. I think this particular magazine is aimed more at university students rather than 16-19 year olds. Either way it is a prime example of a typical college magazine and I think it wil be help me layout my magazine cover.

Q Magazine

• Similar to TimeOut, Q is a very modern and simple magazine layout. I chose this as I think the main cover line is important and Q is a prime example of having one that gets the readers attention, this will help me chose my own main cover line to attract my audience.

• The main way Q attracts students is the Main image, this example would mainly attract guys.

Current

• This is another example of a college magazine, it is a simple design just as before, I’ve looked at several college magazines and they all seem to be very simplistic when it comes to layout, I think the use of colour on white helps enhance the text

and catch the readers eyes. This will help me when i come to decide on a colour scheme for my magazine cover.

Beloit

• Although I have already commented on this magazine, I found it hard to find other college mags, so I decided to evaluate another Beloit edition. This is very similar to the first Beloit magazine i looked at, this shows they have consistency, as before the main image is the first thing you look at, It is apparent that the main image is vital in most advertising, I need to decide on the
