Colour

The colours that have been used for the magazine insert are very bright and vibrant colours that stand out which catches the readers eye. They are girlie colours that have been used for the titles which would be appealing for Katy Perry target audience. She has used blue coloured front to for the name of the album which works well as the title is ‘ on of the boys’ and the connotation of boys would be the colour blue.

The image of Katy herself looks different from how Katy usually is as she is usually always smiling in all of her photos. She also is giving the camera direct eye contact which gets the readers attention straight away. The fact she has one had behind her back gives us the idea maybe she is hiding something and she is up to something which then takes us to her had that has the lollypop in is hanging down when you would think she would be licking the lollypop.

The background of the photo gives us the impression she is in her back garden at home. She has the blow up pool in the background which yet again shows us that she is still young and trying to present herself as a young girl.

In this photo we can see that Katy is holding a lollypop in her hand shaped like a heart which gives us the idea that she is trying to present herself as the image as a innocent you girl. It could also give us the idea maybe her songs are about love and that's why the lollypop is in a heart shape. She is where a pair of high waist shorts which could have been in fashion the time the album was realised which would be showing her as a style icon. From the photo you can’t tell if she is wearing high heels or just flat shoes but I think it is more likely to be high heels as even though she is going for the innocent girl look she is still grown up adult, she isn’t a teenager herself.

The font of all her titles are all bright colours which stand out well against the background. The bubble writing style font works well with innocent girl look that she is going for in this magazine page. The name of the c-d album ‘one of those boys’ works well with the font that it is in as it looks like a style of a teenage girls handwriting who would likely write something like that. The simple font that states the date the album comes out works well as it stands out and isn’t hard to read which makes it easy for people to read which is the whole point of the article.
