Welcome to the first ever edition of LZF Magazine;

a paper on light, life and other pleasures…a paper

dedicated to lifestyle, but not as you know it.

When Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler first coined the

term ‘Lifestyle’ back in 1929, he was referring to the

sum total of the values, passions, knowledge, meaningful

deeds and eccentricities that makes each of us who we

are.

That’s kind of what we mean when we say that LZF’s

new magazine has lifestyle as its focus.

Sure, when you turn the pages you’ll see the lavish homes

of the rich and famous, the exotic locations around the

globe, and the superb interiors created by some of the

planet’s finest designers.

And you’ll see our beautiful lights used within these

sumptuous spaces, in ways that might take your breath

away.

But like our friend Dr Adler, what we really want you

to see is what makes people tick. What do the people

who live with our lights imagine? Believe? Hope for?

What are their eccentricities?

…who are they?

In following issues the creative force behind LZF Marivi

Calvo will be leading an incredibly talented team of

photographers and stylists, as they capture the essence of

LZF and the people who love our lights.

Issue one explores the streamlined sexiness of

contemporary abodes around the world. Expect to see

uber-sleek interiors and sharp-edged minimalism tamed

by colour and texture. And of course expect to see LZF

lamps bring everything to life.

THE COLLECTION

More than two decades ago while

creating a couple of lamps for our home

in Valencia; we stumbled on the process

of using wood veneer to diffuse light.

This act of serendipity was to form

the basis for our company, and today

all LZF products are grounded in the

simple act of looking at light through

natural wood.

As we evolved, we developed and

patented our own eco-friendly

treatment for the veneer, allowing it to

be manipulated and utilised in a

multitude of interesting ways.

The result is called Timberlite® and it

is at the heart of everything we do.

LZF’s veneers are individually selected

for their rich, intricate grain and all

have been sourced from sustainable

forests certified by the FSC (Forest

Stewardship Council).

Twenty years later we still believe that

nothing comes close to the ethereal

beauty of timber veneer as a material

to diffuse light.
