I chose this magazine because I liked the way everything way laid out of the front cover. I also liked the fact the magazine used simple colours yet contrasted very well with the main character. I tried to use similar fonts to the magazine as I thought that they were very effective.

As the title of my magazine is ‘Scarlett’ I wanted to use a deep red colour because it would go with the connotation of the name. I also liked how at the bottom of the Hobbit magazine was a tag line which used a varied font of Italics and bold. I chose to use similar on my magazine because it showed effectiveness and would watch the viewer’s eye.

I also liked the information that the magazine had on it as it had very little information but very interesting. I copied the pull quote which is shown on the magazine as I thought this was effectiveness in the way which viewers are most likely to read pull quotes because its very eye catching. I also put in the production name of our trailer to show that it is a popular production.

I tried to follow the codes and conventions of a horror magazine as much as possible because I liked the way the Hobbit magazine was laid out. I also liked the way it used very little colours but is yet very effective. I tried to also use minimal colours such as red, black and white. I decided to use the colour white as white is normally shown as an angelic colour yet I used it in a horror magazine. This is to show the audience that there could be a sense of mystery as to why I’ve used a light colour against a girl who is supposedly ‘possessed’
